UX / Design Standards Writer

We're looking for a Design Standards Writer to help organize, and publish the documentation of our design standards team under the direction of the Standards program manager.

The Standards writer contributes to our design culture by publishing detailed design, content and interaction information on our web site, working with html templates and image files in a content management system.

You also:
• Have an understanding of the user-centered design process, including personas, task analysis, task flows, content audits, content strategies, and user testing
• Understand what’s technically possible, and how business rules work with customer experience
• Are organized and able to work on several projects at once

What you’ll be responsible for
• Collaborating with subject matter experts to define, organize and edit design standards documentation in the financial services space
• Implementing the production workflow for creating standards and guidelines
• Moderating working sessions
• Tracking roadmaps of project and global standards
• Performing light interaction design and information architecture

Minimum Qualifications:
• 3+ years experience working with Interaction Designers, Visual Designers, Content Strategist and Front End Developers to produce documentation, whether for projects or for design documentation
• Familiarity with publishing using a content management system
• Superb communication skills, both verbal and written
• Demonstrated ability to persuade and diplomatically resolve conflict
• Excellent organization and attention to detail
• Expert knowledge of Microsoft Word; familiarity with editing basic html and performing basic image processing
• Some experience with information architecture
• Working knowledge of customer experience roles and deliverables
• Demonstrated experience with user centered design methodology
• Proven experience successfully working with a geographically remote team
• Excellent problem-solving, facilitation and planning skills
• Expertise in Microsoft office suite (including MS Project, PowerPoint, Word, Excel)

Preferred qualifications:
• Experience developing and owning design standards and guidelines
• Experience working in a content management system
• Awareness of accessibility standards
• Experience in the financial industry
• Experience as an interaction designer, visual designer, or content strategist
• Experience tracking project roadmaps and deliverables
• 3+ years of consulting experience with F100 companies.
