UI/UX Designer

One of our major Entertainment clients is seeking an experienced UX/UI Designer to join the team. The chosen candidate will be responsible for defining, testing, and overseeing the creation of engaging, user-friendly interfaces and subsequent documentation. This includes working closely with producers, project managers, game designers, artists, and developers to create user flows, wireframes, mockups, rapid prototypes, and interaction specifications, as well as conduct real world testing with actual users to guide the user experience development process. Additional responsibilities include preparing design solutions, developing functional experiences with a focus on engaging users, and developing and improving upon existing UX/UI game systems. The ideal candidate will have excellent communication skills and a proven track record.


· UX/UI design for game systems and features from pre-production to live release

· Fulfilling assigned tasks, developing design objectives, interface creation, and user success indicators

· Formation of UX/UI feature specifications and documentation

· Developing and improving upon existing systems UX and UI

· Display examples/wireframes/experiences of RITE methodologies


· Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience with a principal focus on new media, interactivity, and game design with a concentration on interface and user design or instructional design

· 5+ years of experience as a designer and/or information architect in the online gaming, consumer Web, mobile, and/or social media sectors. Must display direct experience on at least 3 AAA product/titles.

· Hands-on understanding of the software development lifecycle; experience working in an agile development environment (Scrum, XP or Related)

· Experience designing for online games (especially virtual worlds and MMOs), mobile (iOS and Android), and products built on top of social platforms like Facebook and Twitter

· Strong graphic design and web design skills. Must be able to design strong layouts for multiple applications (Web, game UI, etc.) and create graphical elements from scratch

· Must have an understanding of Flash best practices and structures for game components

· Familiarity with monetization systems and designs a plus

· Extra Credit: Direct experience designing user experiences for children and younger audiences preferred


· Expert wireframer; able to create both low and high fidelity wireframes and UI Spec documentation to communicate and test specific interactions

· Expert “user-flow-er”; able to reveal the complexity and find solutions and patterns to address complex user interactions

· Able to create detailed user scenarios and use cases

· Experience designing and executing formal, and informal, user experience test plans with actual real world users

· Must have advanced skills in Photoshop, Illustrator, Visio, Flash, Adobe CS, Keynote, Axure, OmniGraffle, pen (or pencil) and paper

· Must have working knowledge of CSS and HTML 5
