Our inspection solutions client is looking for a developer of non-destructive testing instruments. We are looking for an experienced contract UI/UX designer/developer to help on an electronic instrument development project. This is not a web-design project.

Successful candidate will have demonstrable track record developing rich, complex, yet user-intuitive Windows desktop app user experiences with touch controls, using Microsoft Visual Studio, C#, XAML, and WPF. Strong preference given for an individual who has done UI/UX for industrial devices or medical devices. Must be able to develop concepts, user experience storyboards, creating ascetic and intuitive human interfaces. Must be able to leverage or co-manage existing C# code behind software APIs that communicate with instrument hardware. 

Must provide examples of previous projects that demonstrate these particular skills. 

Project length is expected to last three months or more. 


Develop and test UI/UX concepts, user experience menu trees and user experience storyboarding. 
Develop and test UI/UX screen layouts and themes. 
Develop and test WPF C# and XAML code that interfaces with existing back-end software, with high real-time UX performance and low latency. 


Expert-level developer of WPF desktop applications 
Expert-level developer of custom WPF XAML based controls, including inventing user controls that implement touch gestures. 
Expert-level knowledge and experience with XAML-based animation. 
Expert-level experience developing WPF XAML apps that can accommodate multiple user input sources, including touch screen, on-screen keyboard, physical keyboard and/or physical mouse 
Expert-level Microsoft Visual Studio 
Strongly desirable: Expert level experience developing user interfaces for industrial instruments or medical devices. 
Local candidates only (Seattle/Kent WA area). Position is contract but is not considered to be a remote role. Candidates must be able to be physically present for meetings with the in-house team on a regular basis for the duration of the project -- weekly or more often if needed -- at our office in the Seattle area, possibly with short notice. Additionally, on-boarding may require significant (near full-time) in-house time.
