UI Designer

Our lead designer will work through the creative process rapidly. She or he will help to drive inspiration and creativity in the group. Using the design requirements outlined by the UX Designer, and the aesthetic requirements defined by the UI Art Director, they will work through design thumbnails, create beautiful and inspired visual comps, effectively redline comps, and help to create a visual style guide for the product. They would also team with the design developers to eventually learn the work flow and support them with whatever changes or support they require.
The ideal candidate would be highly creative, self-motivated, extremely talented, driven with the ability to operate in a multi-disciplined team, with a strong desire to go above and beyond in their tasks. She or he will have a an understanding of user experience and interaction design and will be highly competent in the understanding and visual design of complete systems. They must be driven and excited by this opportunity to add some of the most valuable work of their career to their portfolio.

The Job
· Work directly with the UI Art Director to define and inspire the visual style for the game; including the aesthetic of the front end, sub menus, systems, iconography, and populated content.
· Partner with UX Design to define all interaction elements and their states. Flesh out functionality in menus while keeping mind of visual and implementation limitations.
· Work with UX Design to critique regularly and fix any issues in usability, consistency and quality.
· Partner with the UI Art Director to outline visual support needed from the dev team in the form of tools, improvements, shaders, etc.
· Work with the Producer to effectively manage schedule and support multiple strike teams as needed.
· Generate assets and maintain a consistent file library for in-game materials.

Work Experience
· 4+ years’ experience working in visual media with a focus on user interface design. Ideally has shipped one PC or console title.

Talent and Traits
· Experience in managing, motivating, and mentoring junior artists.
· Experience is preferred on PC or console based games with game UI and systems.
· Experience in understanding and working with design docs and UX guides to create visuals that adhere to the information.
· Experience in critical thinking within the design process to define and solve visual and usability problems within the designs.
· A strong portfolio showing examples of highly creative UI design and UI concepts including iconography and branding examples if possible. Any motion work is a plus.
· Pro level use of Photoshop and Illustrator.
· Additional knowledge of After Effects and prototyping software is preferred.
· Must be self-driven and deadline oriented with the ability to seek out additional work and information when not tasked.
· Must be a good communicator verbally and visually, have a great work ethic, and a fantastic ability to retain knowledge.
· Must have ability to professionally give and take constructive visual criticism.
· Bachelor’s degree in Graphic Design, Illustration, other related area or have equivalent work experience.
· Must have a passion for cars and a passion for games and visual media in general.
