UI Designer

Essential Functions:
•Create, develop, prototype and validate user interface designs for Xerox
digital systems, software and products
•Function as part of a part of a cross-functional design team and employ a
user-centered design methodology to develop new and derivative user interface
designs
•Work with end-users and product development team members to elicit and
understand user and functional system requirements
•Conduct competitive benchmarking activities to determine and provide
recommendations regarding best-of-breed designs
•Perform task analyses / workflow analyses of existing and emerging user work
practices
•Conduct heuristic evaluations of systems and designs
•Create flow diagrams, logical models, screen layouts and prototypes
•Create and maintain user interface design specifications
•Plan and/or conduct usability tests on user interfaces
•Champion the well established Xerox brand by applying corporate look and feel
guidelines.

Required Skills:

•At least 7 years of experience in one or more of the following areas: User
Interface Design, Interaction Design, Information Architecture, User Experience
Design.
•Demonstrate ability to create UI designs and prototypes using tools such as
Photoshop, Illustrator, Axure, Balsamiq, Dreamweaver, Visual Studio, iRise and
HTML is essential
•Demonstrate ability to create easy-to-use design artifacts such as design
specifications, workflow diagrams and storyboards
•Demonstrate ability to work as a member of a project team, as well as
independently with minimal supervision
•Ability to demonstrate proven ability to perform Task analysis / workflow
analysis is a must.
•Ability to demonstrate strong analytical, problem-solving skills
•Ability to demonstrate strong verbal and written communication skills are a
must
•Ability to demonstrate effective operation within, and adapt to, different
software development processes including waterfall, agile (including SCRUM) and
hybrid models

Education:

•Required: BA/BS in Human Factors, Human Computer Interaction, UI Design or
User Experience Design is strongly desired. Degrees in Multimedia Design,
Visual Communication Design, Industrial Design, Graphic Design or a related
field will be considered if coupled with the required skills and experience
•Preferred: MS/MA in Human Factors, Human Computer Interaction, UI Design or
User Experience Design
