As a UI Designer, you will explore and build novel experiences that engage and delight users. Depending on the project, you may be involved in all aspects of design: from early physical and digital explorations through concept prototyping and pixel-level specification.
Design projects require significant creativity and flexibility from designers. More than anything, an attitude of exploration and openness will lead to success as a User Experience designer.
Your day may involve designing interfaces, mapping out user journeys, creating visual assets, brainstorming in a large group, or prototyping interactions. You have a strong interest in technology and have worked alongside engineers and product managers.
Top 3 Daily Responsibilities:
Meet with business and engineering stakeholders to review feature requirements for multiple products
Produce designs -- from initial concept wireframes through pixel-perfect mockups and specs -- based on Material Design guidelines.
Work with UX researcher to understand user needs and pain points for ongoing design iterations.
BA or BS in design or a related field (in lieu of degree, 7 years relevant work experience)
5+ years working in a user experience design role
Adept at design software and prototyping tools
Fantastic interaction and/or visual design skills
Ability to multitask, as you will be working on multiple products at different stages of development
Nice to Have Skills:
Experience with Material Design guidelines and specs (Strongly preferred)
Experience designing across multiple device types and contexts
Ability to inform and persuade multi-function audiences
Excellent communication and collaboration skills
