Training Lead Content Dev Manager

As an integral member of the Retail Channel Marketing team, the Retail Labour & Evangelism (L&E) Lead offers a dynamic, fast-paced opportunity to interact with Canadian Retailers and make a difference in consumer mind-share for our products.

As the Labour & Evangelism lead, the successful candidate will have the opportunity to lead and manage a team of performers, as well drive the overall strategies for effectively implementing training that delivers sales impact at Canadian retailers both in-person and in the digital/mobile space.

The L&E Lead manages a team of subject matter experts who are responsible for developing comprehensive training content and evangelism opportunities with Retail Professionals (RPs) at Canadian retailers. This role is also responsible for the management and execution of Field Labour activities which include the deployment of reps to maintain optimal merchandising and monthly field priorities by retail account.

To successfully implement these strategies and tactics, you’ll have to work in direct collaboration with your peers including Channel Marketing Managers, Retail Account Managers and Product (Category) Managers. Product responsibility within this role falls across all key Consumer Retail businesses. Your team of skilled vendors will look to you for strategic direction on key projects and seasonal cycle activities.

Responsibilities

1) People Management: Responsible for leading a team consisting of training & evangelism managers, Co Op, Regional Sales Manager. Each of the team members are strong but they will need guidance and assistance along the way. Previous management experience required.
2) Agency Management: Point of Contact for our agency partner who executes our labour program. Programs include training, merchandising and promoter days. Strong program in place, need to act as liaison between the company and agency ensuring both parties are treated fairly, all expectations are reasonable, commitments are delivered. Point person for budget management and personnel escalations. Agency experience preferred.
3) Event Management support - Accountable for retail event execution. Provide support as required to Event Managers.
4) Tools and accountability. Training Managers own the strategy and execution of these tools but Lead must provide support and guidance as required.
5) Budget Management: Given timing, will most likely need to lead budget planning and ongoing management for FY17. Experience managing budgets and working with multiple stakeholders required.
6) Program Management - Must be able to oversee multiple ongoing projects.
7) Sales team management and support: We have a labour program at our largest retail partner (Best Buy). Requirements will be to liaise with Best Buy contact to measure and monitor program progress and impact. There will be multiple operational challenges along the way that the sales management team will need support overcoming. Previous Account/Program/Operations Management experience preferred.

Qualifications
• Proven track record of delivering results and maintaining strong relationships
• Strong capability to manage multiple priorities
• Must be comfortable working in an environment of ambiguity and deals well with unexpected/las-minute changes
• Strong team player
• University or College degree
• Prior Co-Op or Internship experience within the Marketing field preferred, but not mandatory
• Experience working with or for a Training, Events, or Marketing agency is an asset
