INTERESTED IN FINDING OUT HOW TO JOIN THE FOOTWEAR INDUSTRY WINNING TEAM? The largest specialty family footwear retailer in the Western Hemisphere has an exciting and challenging position opening as a traffic controller in their corporate offices in Topeka, Kansas.

The TRAFFIC MANAGER is responsible for the internal scheduling of work throughout the organization. Working under the direction of two Creative Managers and one Creative Director, the traffic manager coordinates movement of all jobs through all agency departments (account service, design, creative, production and retail.)
Duties:
- Opens all agency jobs; makes job jackets as necessary
- Reviews daily work schedule with design/retail and production department.
- Writes up any Job Change Orders from account executives/clients.
- Revises schedules and publishes for distribution to all departments.
- Responsible for publishing a weekly production status report, and detailing the most pressing jobs for the day, and week and their current status, to ensure all departments are advised of schedules and job progress.
- Expedites all ?crisis jobs?. However, the majority of work should flow through creative/production on a reasonable, scheduled basis, and directed and supervised by the creative manager and creative director.
- Notifies account executives/creative manager when it is necessary to contact clients for any materials, information, etc., required to complete scheduled projects.
- Keeps account service and media informed about the current status of all jobs in progress in creative/production, with regular frequency, based on input from the production manager and creative director.
- Conducts weekly traffic meetings involving personnel from all relevant departments.
- Reports any problems affecting job quality, due dates and costs to account service, after being advised by the production manager and creative director.
- Oversees quality control in conjunction with creative department and production manager.
- Deals with vendors on deliveries, scheduling, etc.
- Obtains quotes from art and photo suppliers, freelancers, other vendors, and reviews with production manager.
- Coordinates scheduling of collateral materials to arrive before final deadlines.
- Regulates time to allow for an internal review of all concepts with account executive.
- Maintains current computer skills related to daily job functions.
