One of my fashion clients is looking for a Textile/CAD Designer to start ASAP for a freelance to hire opportunity.
- High end portfolio showcasing work with high end brands
- A well rounded Designer who can create sketches, paints, spec sheets and weaves from scratch
- Bath experience is a HUGE PLUS (towels, shower curtains, etc.)
This client is a leading marketer and manufacturer of decorative bathroom products, window curtains, fashion bedding and accessories in the United States. They are known for home textile products marketed under the brand names of Donna Karan Home, DKNY Pure, DKNY, John Robshaw, Michael Aram, Peri Home and Destinations. The company is recognized as a leader in innovative product development, creative merchandising, global sourcing, and exceptional customer service.
This Textile Designer must be well organized, detail oriented, and must be proficient in Photoshop, Illustrator, Excel and PowerPoint. Team player, excellent eye for color and design, work quickly in a fast paced environment. A college degree in Textile/Fashion is preferred and 3-5 year’s experience is a plus.
Must be creative and enjoy contributing ideas and creating original designs as well
as interpreting artwork and specific design direction
Strong knowledge of color separation, color reduction, textures and watercolor
techniques on computer, repeats, etc.
Ability to prepare mill ready artwork, files for engraving and files with color pitch
Experience creating spec sheets and tech packs for designs to be given to mills
instructing them on size, fabrication, etc.
Knowledge of woven and printed fabrics. Towel knowledge is not necessarily a
must and can be learned
Ability to correspond with mills and oversee developments from start to finish.
Assist in the cataloguing of new artwork through PLM
Work with our China office to utilize company designers in getting artwork and
Work with design team in creating presentation boards and handouts for meetings
and PDF’s and planograms for buyers, merchandisers and sales people.
