Technical Writer for Salesforce Implementation

Aquent is currently searching for a Technical Writer with Experience documenting large scale Salesforce implementations for a contract position at one of our client sites. We offer great medical, dental, vision and 401k benefits.
The successful candidate will work cross functionally with stake holders, subject matter experts and end users to ensure clarity and a complete documentation is occurring.

Responsibilities:
• Work with internal teams to obtain an in-depth understanding of the business processes and to develop the detailed documentation requirements
• Analyze existing and potential content, focusing on reuse and single-sourcing opportunities
• Determine the needs of end users of technical documentation
• Organize and write supporting documents for all processes; create operating instructions, how-to manuals, frequently asked questions pages to support the client audience(s) various needs
• Use photographs, drawings, diagrams, animation, and charts that increase users’ understanding
• Produce high-quality documentation that meets applicable standards [ADA, Corporate Branding, development protocols] and is appropriate for the intended audience(s)
• Create tutorials and simulations for end-user training purposes
• Select appropriate medium for message or audience, such as manuals or online videos
• Standardize content across platforms and media
• Work independently to meet deadlines while coordinating with and soliciting input on materials from subject matter experts; develop relationships and work with the subject matter experts to validate design and content
• Create and maintain the information architecture
• Revise documents as new issues arise

Skills required:
• Ability to understand complex information and communicate the information in a simple format to people with diverse professional backgrounds
• Knowledge of conduct of usability studies to be applied throughout the design/development phase of their assignment to help improve the overall design through a prototype stage
• Strong consultation skills and the ability to partner with Subject Matter Experts and training professionals to understand nuances of the processes being documented
• Excellent technical skills with the ability to build and deliver online, using interactive technologies to blend text, graphics, multidimensional images, sound, and video
• Proven working experience in technical writing of software documentation
• Ability to design and deliver high quality documentation with close attention to detail
• Ability to quickly grasp complex technical concepts and make them easily understandable in text and pictures
• Excellent writing and editing skills
• Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Office suite
• Strong project management skills
• Attention to detail and follow through critical
• Sense of urgency and commitment
• Strong interpersonal skills; ability to influence laterally and vertically
• Ability to work collaboratively
• Solid problem solving and critical thinking skills
• Command of common authoring tools and course development methodologies (Articulate Storyline, In Design, Adobe Captivate, Camtasia a plus)
• Ability to develop video simulations and audio files (using Adobe Premiere Elements, Adobe Audition, iMovie, Garage Band)
