Apply technical writing skills to produce manufacturing protocols for the Organic Chemistry Production department, describing the standard laboratory methods used to synthesize a specific molecule including: materials, equipment and instruments to be used; required analytical methods to characterize the product; and documentation and data reporting requirements required to create a manufacturing batch record.
Perform revisions and updates to protocols, SOPs and work instructions as necessary.
Act independently to review historical records and work directly with scientists to determine methods, procedures, and best practices on new assignments.
Work in ERP, SKU Wizard and Change Control systems to manage creation and revision of raw material and sub-assembly SKUs and manage document revisions.
Critical skills include knowledge of organic synthesis, purification methods and analytical chemistry techniques, including optical spectroscopy, basic chromatography including HPLC, mass spectrometry, and NMR spectroscopy.
Ability to follow written and verbal directions with a high level of accuracy.
Must work well in a team environment, and manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
Ability to perform data analysis and to summarize results.
Minimum Bachelor's degree in Chemistry, Biochemistry, or Bioscience with Technical Writing experience in a scientific field.
Demonstrated ability and/or additional experience may be considered in lieu of an undergraduate degree.
