Technical Writer

Our client, a leader in the financial services industry, is looking for a Technical Writer on a contract to hire basis.

Job Duties:
- Manages written work stream documentation to ensure consistency in the language and format used for question and answer mapping and dialog flows
- Verifies natural language is consistently documented in all answer units
- Translates existing knowledge management documentation into easily readable format
- Manage activities for processes, team, and assist in managing project schedules and costs
- Serves as subject matter expert with the development, implementation, administration, and operation of new process and strategies
- Leads working sessions and process design activities with SMEs on all work streams of the project cycle
- Challenges the project with new and innovative ideas when necessary
- Provides formal written documentation and regular feedback on SME participation/performance
- Provides recommendations to increase quality and optimization of business services and resources
- Coordinates and schedules working sessions, reserves rooms, supplies, and resources
- Consults on the evaluation of business processes for design effectiveness and resource utilization to ensure process performance meets targeted levels
- Provides updates to Business Leads, Executive Sponsors, Operations Leads on working session progress
- Builds written status updates on project
- Prepares formal updates to be communicated to project sponsors, operation leaders, IT, and associates
- Attends status updates and provides updates in absence of business leads
- Tracks internal progress
- Maintains spreadsheet/documentation of answer units, articles rewritten, articles used
- Documents question and answer mapping pairs, dialog flows
- Identifies and rates impacts (integration points, operational and training impacts, systems/applications, etc)
- Coordinates change (ADKAR) activities in preparation of implementation
- Collaborates with communication leads to create awareness and provide updates on project milestones
- Other duties as assigned

Skills:
• Strong technical writing skills with proven knowledge of communication techniques and strategies
• Experience in preparing executive read outs, talking points, and fact sheets with accompanying visuals
• Must be strong in collaboration and possess the ability to pivot across multiple teams
• Exceptional track record of producing high quality products with quick turnaround timelines
• High level mastery of Microsoft Office products, Mindjet MindManager
• Must have the ability to lead effectively in a fast paced environment
• Must have the ability to develop and apply innovative approaches to business problems and opportunities
• Process and/or project management experience on large scale programs desired but not required
• Experience with content design and/or strategy desired but not required
• Knowledge and experience in the insurance industry a plus
