Technical Writer

As a technical writer for this top tech company's Developer Relations, you'll contribute to one of several externally-facing web sites that educate developers about new tools and technologies for building modern web and mobile apps. You'll work with other tech writers, engineers, and product managers to determine which new developer features need documentation. You'll work independently to create document plans, draft developer guides, then make changes to the online documentation, and also spend time resolving issues with existing documentation to keep it up to date.

You might have a background as a developer and write documentation on the side, or you're a seasoned communicator with experience in programming languages such as Java and C++, or a strong background with HTML, CSS, and JavaScript. One thing for certain: you are passionate about helping app developers build amazing things.

Responsibilities:
-Meet with product managers and software engineers to determine scope and create documentation plans
-Write documentation guides for developers that cover: how to use APIs, how to build apps, and how to Use developer tools
-Fix documentation errors reported by users
-Provide editorial reviews for other technical writers
-Create information architectures for sets of documents

Required Qualifications:
-Ability to read and write code in object oriented programming languages (such as Java and C++) or web development languages (HTML, CSS, and Javascript)
-2 -5 years minimum Experience with online publishing for documentation
-2 -5 years minimum Experience working in command-line environment for navigating and managing files
-2 -5 years minimum Experience using version control system such as Perforce or GIT
-2 -5 years minimum Experience with writing documentation for software developers
