Technical Writer

Immediate need for a Technical Writer. Will be working 4 months with potential to extend.

MAIN RESPONSIBILITY:
Updating existing content with revisions, synthesize multiple sources, and chunk information per knowledge management categories with procedural, process, and conceptual information for specific operations areas.

SKILLS:
• Excellent technical writing skills
• Ability to work with subject matter experts
• Capability to understand audience needs as “new learners” as well as “users” because manuals are used for training purposes and on the job manuals
• Ability to clarify content, eliciting tacit knowledge, and discovery of how job is performed
• Skilled in documenting procedures with action based perspective
• Ability to separate need to know information from nice to know information
• Comfortable capturing screenshots and annotating
• Highly skilled in proofreading and copy editing
• AP style guide knowledge
• Knowledge of the following software: Word, SnagIt
• Plus to have previous experience with knowledge management systems and SharePoint

ADDITIONAL INFORMATION:
• Work onsite M-F, 40 hours a week
• Writing samples are required prior to interview
