Technical Shader Artist

This is an exciting opportunity for a Shader Technical Artist to join our studio. This role oversees the creation and management of shaders and materials to support our enormous library of high quality game content for our cutting edge games.

Job Responsibilities:

• Contribute to the development of the artistic techniques and processes utilized to define and achieve a product’s visual style and encourage artistic evolution within the studio. This entails expanding methods to improve the production pipelines, tools, processes, and visual integrity.
• Independently undertakes research and information gathering prior to the commencement of a new task to ensure game design needs, reference materials, artistic direction, and technological considerations are effectively managed to meet the defined goals.
• Actively advances skill set, abilities and then shares this knowledge by keeping aware of industry trends and techniques, evaluating competitive products, learning new software packages and traditional art methods.
• Design and maintain a hierarchical library of shaders and materials for our car and environment content
• Author shaders and maintain stability and performance of material library

Qualifications:
• BS/BA degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Graphic Arts, Art or a related field
• Proficiency in HLSL and experience with node-based shader authoring systems
• 5+ years of production experience creating real-time AAA quality shaders
• Previous experience debugging shader performance for console and PC AAA titles
• Understanding of 3D graphics math and lighting principles
• Excellent communication skills
• Work well under deadlines and multi-tasks
