Technical Project Manager

Aquent's Fortune 500 client is looking for a Technical Project Manager to work a 6 month contract with a strong likelihood to extend in Seattle, WA. The Technical Project Manager will own the scheduling, monitoring, tracking and execution of the project and will need to work efficiently and execute against tight milestones and project deadlines.

- Drive, manage and own the delivery of the project helping to define the best strategies and tactics.
- Lead the project work streams through design, delivery and successful completion.
- You will work closely with a talented group of engineers bringing order to chaos without sacrificing speed or quality.

Responsibilities:
- Coordinate internal resources and third parties/vendors for the execution of the project.
- Ensure that all tasks are delivered on-time, within scope and within budget.
- Define, develop, manage and document project schedule/milestones, proactively drive project-related issues to appropriate resolution, and plan for contingencies due to project-related risks, involving all relevant stakeholders and ensuring technical feasibility.
- Escalate resource availability and allocation issues to managers.
- Develop a detailed project plan to track project progress.
- Use appropriate verification techniques to manage changes in project scope, schedule and costs.
- Measure project performance using appropriate systems, tools and techniques.
- Report and escalate technical issues to managers as needed.
- Perform risk management to minimize project risks.
- Create and maintain comprehensive project documentation.
- Facilitate and participate in regular status meetings with product and engineering leaders, while owning all critical communications.
- Capture/document meeting minutes, drive follow-ups and prepare status reports for senior leadership.

Requirements
- 4 year degree in mechanical, electrical, chemical, or other engineering discipline.
- Solid technical background, with understanding or hands-on experience in hardware development and technologies.
- 4+ years of experience as a Technical Project Manager or Engineering leader.
- Meticulous attention to detail, including maintaining accurate records and diligently tracking key project metrics.
- Independence and self-reliance while being a pro-active team player with excellent communication skills.
- Ability to multitask and manage multiple work streams - work prioritization, planning, and task delegation.
- Exceptional organizational skills including attention to detail.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Office.
- Expert knowledge of JIRA, SmartSheets, Omniplan or other project tracking tools.
- Project Management Professional (PMP) certification desired.
