Technical Project Manager (8211731) Professional VUE Team

Manages all aspects of various technical projects (projects that focus on software development, hardware, information technology and technical applications), including assembling project team, assigning individual responsibilities, identifying appropriate resources needed, and developing schedules to ensure timely completion of project(s). This position must be familiar with the project objectives as well as the role and function of each team member to effectively coordinate the activities of the team. Communicates with project leaders and/or sponsors and functional area Managers regarding status of specific projects. 

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES 

  • Manage software development and business process analysis projects involving cross-functional teams focused on the delivery of a product or service. 
  • Develop and maintain project charters, detailed work plans, schedules and risk registers appropriate for the scope and complexity of each project 
  • Track the cross-functional team in the execution of the project. Provide positive leadership toward the successful delivery with a focus on cost, schedule, scope, quality, and communication 
  • Coordinate efforts of all cross-functional team members. Establish and maintain a highly cooperative environment and foster collaboration across all areas 
  • Communicate status of assigned projects through written status reports and other communications as needed to various stakeholders 
  • Perform project risk assessment and implement risk mitigation plans 
  • Maintain project artifacts throughout the project 
  • Document high-level business requirements for projects as needed 

REQUIREMENTS

  • PMP certification is preferred 
  • Five or more years of progressively responsible project management experience, including experience with business process analysis and workflow re-engineering 
  • Advanced knowledge of project management principles, tools, including MS Project, MS Office (Visio, Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and requirements analysis. Change management training and experience is preferred 
  • Proven ability to manage complex large-scale projects under significant constraints 
  • Understanding of software development lifecycle and experience in managing software projects. Experience managing projects in an Agile environment is preferred 
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills. Ability to quickly assess unclear or complex situations and reduce into clear direction for the team 
  • Strong organizational and time management skills. Ability to work independently and efficiently in a fast-paced environment 
  • Excellent interpersonal, collaborative and communication skills; demonstrated ability to establish positive working relationships at all levels of the organization and with technical and non-technical staff. Ability to effectively lead, manage and energize cross-functional teams across multiple sites 
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills, including presentation experience in a variety of settings 

EDUCATION

  • Bachelor's degree required. A degree in Computer Science/Management Information Systems/Business Administration/Engineering or related discipline is preferred
