Technical Instructional Designer

We are looking for an experience Technical Instructional Designer that will work with Managers and other trainers to identify specific business needs and to propose training solutions.

The ideal candidate will have experience in:
• Applying an Instructional Design Methodology.
• Assessing the needs of target audiences, which is usually Systems Administrators.
• Designs, develops, writes and maintains course materials (i.e. slides, handouts, courseware, lab instructions, lab solutions) for courses that emphasize the tasks necessary to perform duties.
• Recruits subject matter experts (SMEs) and external technical trainers to present or incorporate their expertise into various types of training.
• Has experience researching technology related information.
• Maintains awareness of external seminars and training plus literature on available programs.
• Able to work with multiple deliverables.
• Technical writing expertise may require ability to write to an international audience.
• Generally, works independently, in a team environment and is required to meet strict deadlines.


Requirements
The initial targeted modules will be introductory in nature and standards are currently being established to support: User Experience; navigation; remediation; assessment and reporting. The work will encompass but not be limited to the following:
• Take guidance from our in-house subject matter expert to develop the content focus in draft format (storyboarding)
• Take guidance from Instructional Designers (IDs) for the design and development standards (including a templated wireframe design, storyboard/flow, navigation, remediation, testing/assessment, learning objectives and overall content flow)
• Work with IDs to validate the above designs and draft with an extended group of subject matter experts (as necessary)
• Assist IDs with communication and introduction of published modules
• Complete the development of the above modules using authoring tools, audio, video and animation methods, assessment algorithms and other required Instructional design skills

Skills:
• PowerPoint and Office Mix
• Graphics and art skills (scaling, cropping), photo manipulation, animation
• Audio / Video, taking raw or recorded content and editing, scaling (as necessary) and incorporation.) Must have experience with authoring tools (Storyline 2 and Captivate)
• Developing learning materials either online or for classroom
• Experience working with and collaborating with Subject Matter Experts
• No required academic experience, degrees, or certifications but would like to see training development for big Tech companies
