This team are looking for an experienced technical editor who is passionate about technology, games, entertainment, and software development to work on an SDK targeted at game developers.

This team is tasked with harnessing the ingenuity of the academic, research, and hobbyist game programmers and helping them publish their ideas on the gaming console. Your responsibility will be editing the Kit documentation, which includes conceptual topics and an API reference.

As the SDK editor, you will be responsible for collaborating with the programming writing to deliver high-quality, developer-focused technical documentation. The ideal editing candidate will demonstrate the following qualifications/qualities:
• Demonstrated understanding of programming documentation principles and software development.
• Ability to edit code samples.
• Experience publishing content and samples to the web.
• Strong customer-focus skills.
• Ability to meet deadlines.
• Ability to collaborate closely and productively with developers, programmer writers, program managers, software testers, editors, developer support engineers, and localization teams.
• Familiarity with HTML Help (.chm files), XML, C++, and C#.
• SharePoint and Source Depot knowledge helpful.

In addition, this position will provide opportunities to work on other creative game content, as needed, so an enthusiasm for and experience playing video games is highly desirable.

3-5 years of work related experience is required. Demonstrated ability to oversee projects is required. Strong organizational skills and the ability to handle multiple projects simultaneously are required. Must have the ability to work closely with documentation managers, writers, production teams, program managers, and developers on issues affecting the quality of documentation. Must possess a strong understanding of the technology being documented or its equivalent. Knowledge of the editing requirements for a wide variety of documentation deliverables is required. Familiarity with HTML, XML, and XML authoring tools (e.g. XMetal). Bachelor's degree in Technical Communications, English Literature, Journalism or related field is preferred.
