This Fortune 100 Top Tech Company is looking for a technical editor to help create industry-leading technical blogs and articles. You have experience identifying and eliminating errors and inconsistencies in text and illustrations, consulting with authors on content and style, establishing, monitoring, and reinforcing editorial standards, and editing at an advanced level.
This position is 50% blogs and blog management - communicating with authors, editing submissions, managing requests, tagging, optimizing SEO, etc. The other half of the job is a mishmash of content management, copyediting, and a miscellany of content-related tasks.
Edit blog submissions to improve clarity, effectiveness, and align with marketing objectives.
Manage authors in Wordpress; communicate with them in a timely manner.
Manage blog pipeline and editorial calendar.
Review and evaluate existing content; tag appropriately.
2-5 year of experience working as an editor and working with authors.
Experience editing documentation for a highly technical audience.
You consider yourself an expert at Wordpress; publishing blogs and managing content and authors, troubleshooting plugins, and other typical Wordpress tasks.
Superior command of the English language, including rules and usage.
Strong interpersonal communication skills.
Strong organizational and time-management skills.
Technical background including markup languages (HTML, Wiki, MD, etc) and at least one programming language.
Adept at learning new technologies. Right now.
Ability to switch focus and manage several tasks at once.
You’ve used Salesforce.
Experience working in an Agile (scrum) environment. (Small teams, independent & intense environment).
Experience in a distributed work environment using virtual meetings (GTM, Hangouts, etc) across multiple time zones.
Experience editing for an international audience, and modifying content for global English considerations.
Experience using content management systems.
