Technical Editor / Writer

Our client is looking for a Technical Editor who can view XML and help do editorial changes. You will not be creating new content but you do need Editorial skills and familiarity with how to correct the XML tagging. If you have HTML tagging, XHTML or XML experience you would be a good fit for this position.

Produce PDF and online help documentation from a single source (XML)

Responsibilities:
Edit XML topics to correct XML element tagging. Modify or recreate imported graphic so to ensure that the information and graphics are rendered correctly in the generated documents. Modify or create document maps that utilize the correct XML topic files to generate the PDF and online documentation. Work with the documentation leads to verify that the generated content is complete and accurate for each product line.

Skills/Experience:
• Experience with XML, xHTML, or HTML tagging used in technical documentation.
• Understanding of technical documentation concepts and practices.
• Understanding of programming concepts, terminology, and constructs.
• Programming experience a plus.
• Excellent time management skills.
• Ability to multitask and work well under pressure and tight deadlines.
• Must have good written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to work well independently and as part of a multi-functional, cross department team.

Education:Required:
Bachelor's, Computer Engineering and/or Computer Science and/or Digital Media and/or Information Technology and/or Marketing and/or Media & Multimedia Arts or equivalent experience in engineering and scientific areas

This is a 6-9 month temp assignment working onsite.
