Large Entertainment Company in downtown LA is seeking a Technical Director to join their team. The Technical Director is responsible for technical and operational execution of all broadcast equipment and technology within the production control room environment for live and taped studio shows. Responsibilities include but not limited to: operating the Sony MVS8000 production switcher in a file based/server environment, routing sources, creating displays, interfacing with external devices, creating user and suite preferences, graphic implementation and video compression/manipulation. The Technical Director is responsible for the clean execution of the studio show working within established SOP’s in a team-oriented environment. The Technical Director will also assist with troubleshooting technical issues that arise during the production process.

Advanced understanding of workflow of other business units, including their impact and/or specific integration with Production Operations.
• Experience in problem solving and troubleshooting techniques and effective communication to best convey the issues necessary for resolution
• Required to train others in operational areas and generate training documentation
• Ability to interpret and understand complex information and disseminate it to proper personnel
• Demonstrated organizational, efficiency and planning skills are required.
• Participation in training programs, (physical, classroom, virtual, etc.) for self-career development and/or regarding any relevant equipment and workflow changes within the operation
• Participation in required administrative tasks including, but not limited to, the effective utilization of all software based applications (such as time entry, travel and expense filing,) and daily shift reporting
• All employees are expected to embrace company initiatives including town and/or departmental meetings, upward feedback performance management applications and employee surveys.

Basic Qualifications
• Familiarity with SONY switcher platforms (MVS Series) highly desired.
• Advanced knowledge of broadcast methods of measuring audio and video signals to ensure quality control of ESPN endorsed standards on all operations.
• PC proficiency required.
• Familiarity with software based scheduling systems (Xytech, ScheduAll) and payroll programs (SAP) desired but not mandatory.
