Awesome contract to hire role for a mid-level technical writer at a local agency. This role is responsible for creating technical content for communications programs that describe and promote clients’ companies and their products. Reporting to the Managing Editor, working on whitepapers, brochures, web pages, product trainings, blogs, company or product fact sheets, or other marketing materials. You will be assigned to develop and write technical content that accurately reflects the brand voice and campaign objectives.
Duties and Responsibilities:
Communicate in consistent, compelling and brand-appropriate voice throughout all content.
Research content to complete writing assignments according to set standards regarding order, clarity, conciseness, style, and terminology.
Consistently and accurately integrate substantiation and citations per provided guidelines or style sheet.
When working from existing copy, edit and make changes to ensure quality and alignment with client and project requirements.
Ability to meet deadlines and follow project schedules.
Maintain history of all copy revisions throughout entire project cycle.
Ensure the correct use of trademark symbols according to each client’s legal & brand guidelines.
Collaborate with internal team members to produce a cohesive and high-quality end product.
Work closely with Managing Editor to establish and refine direction.
Follow provided guidelines and cross-reference support materials to ensure accurate, consistent, and high quality messaging.
Minimum Qualifications: Bachelor’s degree in English, Communication, Technical Writing, Journalism, or other related field or demonstrated equivalent work experience.
One to three years copywriting experience, preferably in an agency environment.
At least one year of technical writing experience. Familiarity with some of the following concepts a plus: server technology, processor technology, cloud, big data, HPC, software-defined infrastructure.
Demonstrated knowledge of the structure and content of the English language, including vocabulary, composition, grammar, and syntax.
