Provides copy editing support to technical editors, programmer editors and writers. Ensures compliance with corporate and group editorial style standards. Maintains correctness, consistency and accuracy in documentation. Ensures compliance with corporate legal guidelines for adding trademarks to product names. Performs production proofing and coordination tasks, as needed. Tests procedures in documentation as needed. Tests complied and build documentation in online and Web environments. Able to provide copy editing support for teams that may have no other editors. Edits copy for editors, writers, developers, or program managers. Can perform a production edit on print, online, and Web deliverables. May handle the team schedule. Skills: 2 to 4 years copy editing experience, in an online, Web or print environment, preferably in software and/or Web development required. Demonstrated knowledge of grammar, spelling and style is required. Must be familiar with current word processing software and be able to learn new tools quickly. Must be able to work independently and as part of a team. Must be able to meet deadlines. Excellent communications skills required, along with the ability to follow complex instructions. Excellent knowledge of grammar, spelling, and style. Ability to handle multiple assignments and overlapping deadlines. Is a self-starter who takes the initiative. Excellent understanding of production principles. Ability to guide the work of other editors, proofreaders, and production staff. Must be able to provide current samples of work. Bachelor's degree in Technical Communications, English Literature, Journalism or related field preferred.
