Technical Artist / Assistant Editor (Gaming)

We are seeking a talented Technical Artist / Assistant Editor with gaming experience as part of our Asset Creation team located in our Irvine-based game studio, Double Helix, to bring high quality video content to gaming customers everywhere. As a Technical Artist / Assistant Editor in the Asset Creation team, you will have the opportunity to work and help shape all of the external facing assets at one of the most customer centric companies on the planet, aspiring to build the next big thing in gaming. As a Technical Artist / Assistant Editor on the Asset Creation team, you must possess a strong professional graphic design expertise as well as being highly organized and able to thrive in a fast-paced environment with multiple projects under tight deadlines. The ideal candidate will also be versed in artistic sensibilities as well as having a deep technical understanding allowing you to work closely with editors, character artists, and animators to bring the vision of the game to life. You are expected to understand the editorial pipeline from end to end and have an extensive knowledge of setup and capture technics with in-game engines.
Requirements:

A minimum 3+ years’ experience as a technical artist in video games and/or as an Assistant Editor in a video production studio and 1-2 years industry experience developing rigs and animation tools
Strong knowledge of industry animation, rigging, and simulation practices and standards
Experience with modern game engines like Lumberyard, CryEngine, UE4, or other internally developed engines
Experience in setting up and capturing in-game footage
Experience importing Maya objects and data into modern game engines
Ability to source, ingest, and manage footage from all sources
Ability to collaborate with producers and editors to provide footage, support, and ideas as needed
Ability to work autonomously or collaboratively on feature projects
Ability to run a project, problem, or task from start to finish.
Knowledge of industry standard video formats
