CONTRACT: 3 MONTHS
LOCATION: NORTH BAY

** A FORTUNE 500 FASHION COMPANY IS LOOKING FOR AN EXCEPTIONAL TECHNICAL DESIGNER **

RESPONSIBILTIES:
• Collaborate with Sr. Technical Designers to develop preliminary tech packs for costing and proto samples for each new season
• Support Sr. Technical Designers to lead fit sessions on live model or mannequin, and collaborate with designers and merchants to obtain clear direction and concensus
• Evaluate samples for fit, function, balance, construction and workmanship
• Execute design/fit intent into bulk production while maintaining corporate standards
• Ensure performance styles follow brand standard constructions and finishes within product category
• Collaborate with overseas vendors as needed to effect appropriate construction for manufacturing while maintaining design’s aesthetic
• Fully detailed written instructions to improve the fit and quality of each garment
• Photos of problem fit areas for review by vendor, to demonstrate requested corrections
• Detailed sketches – updated
• Bill of materials – review/update internal and functional trims
• Garment measurements – including changes – in tech packs in either excel format or PLM
• Graded measurements, following standard grades – in tech packs in either excel format or PLM
• Pattern modifications – either hard copy, e-patterns or digitals of pattern amendments – depending on nature of corrections, and factory capability
• Establish specs on all points of measure and ensure size and fit consistency within product category – in tech packs in either excel or PLM
• With guidance from Sr. Technical Designers, track and manage workflow; accountability for seasonal deadlines of product category
• Foster open communication and team environment

REQUIREMENTS:
• Bachelor’s degree in Design
• Technical design experience in knits, wovens, or swim preferred
• Ability to make pattern corrections using Gerber/Accumark
• Excellent communication skills
• Proficient in PLM, Gerber, and Illustrator required
