Studio Manager

We are looking for an experienced Studio Manager to join their in-house design department on a permanent basis.

Reporting to the Head of Design you will be responsible for the smooth day-to-day running of a team of 11 designers.

Working from our office in Paddington (London) the Studio Manager will be required to manage all of the incoming design briefs, ensuring they are competed on time and to a high standard.

Working collaboratively with other departments and staff, the successful candidate will have perception and overview as to what is going on across the office with ongoing projects.

Your main duties and responsibilities in the Studio Manager role will include:

• Daily reviewing of work schedules of the design department.
• Forecasting the necessary resources required to complete work.
• Assigning briefs to the relevant designer based on ability and availability.
• Create an effective workflow structure for the designers.
• Ensuring all design work is delivered to deadline.
• Compiling and updating studio schedules for the designers.
• Setting up design reviews between the designers and project participants.
• Organize and participate in project planning meetings.
• Attend bi-weekly catchups with designers.
• Taking briefs from the sales, marketing and Creative Solutions teams.
• Scheduling annual leave requests.
• Ensuring staff comply with day-to-day studio protocols, including the archiving of completed work.
• Managing studio supplies including purchase orders and invoices.
• Create and update a report of the overall output of the design team.
• Acting as a point of contact with external suppliers such as printers and freelancers.
• Attend media briefings both externally and internally when required
• Organizing social activities and team events.
• Working with the Head of Design on recognition and organization of external training requirments.
• Promote design services.

Key skills & Requirements

• Good communication and organization skills.
• Excellent time management skills.
• The candidate will need to be able to work effectively under pressure.
• A working knowledge of design processes in order to ascertain deadlines.
• Understanding of production techniques.
• An interest in design, especially out-of-home advertising.
• The ability to take accurate briefs from meetings


• 9am – 5.30pm Monday to Friday
• Out of hours work may be required subject to varying project deadlines
• Office Location – London


• 6 Monthly reviews/appraisals with Head of Design


• Eligible for end of year company bonus scheme
