Aquent is looking to hire a Studio Artist for a large retail client! This position is a Brand Creative support function to layout and produce mechanicals within technical specifications for marketing, email, and other materials for all of our retails brands and reporting directly to the Associate Creative Director of Ad Sets and Digital. Takes direction and gets approvals from the other Associate Creative Directors and Art Directors.

Must have a high level of technical skill with Adobe Creative Suite, efficiency, flexibility and versatility are highly valued. The ideal candidate loves the details of creating a perfect mechanical but must also have good design skills so we can interpret style guides into files that will meet brand creative standards.

Requires a high degree of focus and extreme diligence in handling detail, typography and creating 100% accurate page layouts. Must feel comfortable in a fast-paced work environment and be deadline-driven. Must also be willing to work a few hours of overtime when occasionally needed.

Essential Job Functions:

Must be able to perform all of the following duties and responsibilities with or without a reasonable accommodation.
• Review assignments directly with the Creative Studio Producer or Art Director to determine the best method of execution.
• Design/Build accurate computer files based on the approved style guide or concept layout and maintain the creative integrity of the original concept and brand.
• Produce multiple versions of any media using InDesign layers, master pages, Paragraph and Character Styles. Must keep all versions 100% organized, labeled and filed according to preset file-naming standards.
• Review file specifications requirements prior to producing files and maintain consistent file preparation suitable for outputting by vendors.
• Assist the senior studio artist in developing methods to create and maintain consistent studio file preparation to include page building, Photoshop compositing and retouching, logo design/illustration/construction
• Contribute to continuous improvement with ideas on file prep incorporate latest technical advancements in software
• Produce consistent file results between the comp, layout and final mechanical.
• Helps senior studio artist in calibration of tools and devices including equipment, checklist, guides, libraries that help maintain brand consistency.
• Ensure the quality and accuracy of files that are created or sent to vendors or partners.
• Maintain records and quality checklists as required.
• Communicate as necessary with senior studio or project coordinator to eliminate and prevent errors and problems
• Check artwork for completeness and assure adherence to brand standards
• Monitor art preparation guidelines. Recommend technical and procedural updates and changes as needed
• Assist in the collection and distribution of assets ensure accurate file and meta tagging conventions
• Assist in organizing, monitoring, archiving, and maintaining files on the server/DAM

Education/Experience:
The minimum educational background is a BA of BFA in Communication Arts, Graphic/technical Production, or Graphic Design. This position requires an advanced working knowledge of all MAC graphics system and software (relevant at the time of hire). Strong oral and written communications skills and the demonstrated ability to meet tight timelines, manage multiple projects and work productively in a team environment are required. Specialization in digital mobile/email graphic production is preferable.

Minimum 1-3 years of experience developing digital production files for print and digital projects.
