The Sr. Analyst, Strategy Role

The Sr. Analyst, Strategy is a key team member of our client's quickly growing San Francisco office. The candidate will support the Director of Strategy to deliver strong and organized thinking to our clients; specifically, this position will initially support internal eBay Family relationships, with a heavy emphasis on eBay’s Marketplace (ebay.com) division.

This individual will have a foundation in digital marketing (including email, site marketing, CRM, content design, etc.), bring a strong work ethic, contain a highly-organized sense of thinking and communication, be knowledgeable in integrated marketing, and posess a client service mentality. Agency experience is preferred but not required.

Job Requirements
• Utilize tools available (library, 3rd party research, etc.) to identify applicable research, conduct research, summarize and synthesize findings
• Support customer/ campaign analytics, reporting and help derive customer insights and improvement opportunities
• Seek relevant experience and interview internal resources to solve client issues
• Conduct competitive analyses
• Conduct industry analyses
• Develop presentations and supporting materials and present to clients
• Understand agency client resources and roles of various team functions (marketing/account, planning, media, creative, operations, etc.)
• Be a contributing member of cross-functional account team(s)
• Apply customer insight research/trends and competitive/industry research/insight to solve client problems
• Assess client readiness to implement strategy and programs: current capabilities, gaps, work-arounds
• Work closely with data analytics and research planning to analyze customer behavior, value and needs
• Work with partner agencies and internal resources to develop integrated marketing solutions
• Proactively identify new business opportunities within existing client base
• Contribute to sharing, publishing, and “warehousing” intellectual property developed in-house or accessible from third-parties
• Stay abreast of relevant digital/online advertising, sales & marketing trends


Success Criteria

While it is fully recognized that all success is dependent upon a concerted team effort and partnership with the appropriate team members within the organization, the primary performance metrics for this position will be:

• Transmitting expertise in strategic thinking that drive genuine revenue growth for clients

• Client and account team satisfaction with depth of thinking and quality of output

Essential Skills & Experience

• Bachelor's degree, preferably in marketing, analytics and/or related field
• 1-3 years of total business experience
• Experience in a high-growth, fast-paced organization
• Demonstrated experience in developing consultative relationships in a consulting or service organization, including the ability to influence decision makers to think strategically
• Self-starter
• Understanding and knowledge of retail e-commerce marketing
• Excellent written, verbal and presentation communication skills
• Work without requirement of supervision while directing a small team comprised of consultants, senior consultants and associates
• Strong analytical skills
• Strong knowledge of key principals of digital marketing and relationship marketing
• Ability to assemble and manage resources that do not report to him/her
• Proven ability to present a persuasive argument
• Ability to forge trusted relationships with clients
• Ability to be successful navigating through ambiguous client and Agency environments to drive outcomes
• Creative problem solver
• Voracious consumer of a broad set of thinking – new, industry press, blogs, etc.
