One of our digital agencies is seeking a junior to mid-level strategist to support their senior strategists/planners for approximately 3 months. Majority of work with involve reviewing secondary research (and conducting some primary) to come up with relevant insights and strategies. This is an internal role working in close collaboration with strategy team, new business and creative team. Clients work include Wells Fargo, new business and other various brands in BR's roster.
Ideal candidate will have agency experience and thrive in destructured, casual, work-hard play-hard work environment.

The Strategy team is the engine that drives creativity at the agency through a keen understanding of consumers, culture and our clients business. Ultimately, we believe in identifying great problems for creativity to solve. Our ideal Strategist has a passion for and experience/can dabble in: brand planning, digital/channel strategy, analytics, experience design, and research. But the most important prerequisite is a love of creative problem solving. We are looking for a freelance/contract role with an opportunity to hire for the right candidate if desired.

What you will do:

The ideal candidate has 2-4 years experience in developing and applying key insights (consumer, culture, category, competitive, etc.) in an agency or brand-consulting environment
Apply strategy skills and methodologies to create relevant and though provoking strategic recommendations
Optimize the impact of customer insights in the creative process by partnering with cross-functional teams
Identify the key insights from existing client data and determine relevant consumer, brand or marketing program implications
Conduct research, both primary and secondary, to deliver true consumer insight; lead stakeholder, consumer and prospect interviews
Qualitative research - projective techniques, etc.; passionate about applying cutting edge qualitative methodology to insight creation
Stay abreast of the new tools and methodologies for developing consumer and brand insights
Organize and lead brainstorms that are collaborative, inspiring and maximize team contributions
Develop brand positioning and brand strategy projects for client and agency teams
Develop the consumer and brand POV for new business pitches for the agency
Drive teamwork and collaboration our processes
Keep abreast of developments within culture and clients’ industry and pass on this knowledge to the rest of the team
Contribute to ongoing thought leadership initiatives (trend reports) based on key consumer and digital trends, consumer insight and opportunities

An entrepreneurial drive and ability to identify opportunities without being told
Comfort working in highly flexible flat organizations
Undergraduate degree in not just advertising or marketing but any other relevant writing/thinking intensive area
A research/insights background with a strong bent/passion for strategic thinking is highly desired
