Strategic Planner/Strategist Job

0 people like this description

We are currently working with a client who likes to take risks, peruse the exciting – have a sense of adventure and be brave, inquire and explore.

They create energy and excitement and do it in a warm, positive way. They believe that great things happen through planning, preparation, diligence, and a desire to get it right. They want to create brilliance by denying the accident, and not leaving anything to chance.
They collaborate with themselves and their clients, or with partner agencies, with one purpose – to get things done.
As a result of growth in their Sydney office, they are expanding their planning team and are looking for a senior strategist.
Your passion for consumer insight, brands, and advertising in combination with your can-do attitude will allow you to make your mark on the role and own strategic projects from concept through to execution.

The planning department plays a central role in this agency. Made up of a motley bunch of people that, in a former life, have variously been psychologists, CEO’s, media planners, students of life, bartenders and even good old account planners. They are all bound by a few things that, regardless of background, remain sacred: strategic nous, curiosity, optimistic cynicism and passion. On top of that, as the source of inspiration for the agency, it’s vital that they’re both interesting and interested.

You’ll work hand-in-hand with clients, account teams, creatives, producers and other planners to make world-class work happen, whatever it takes.
Specifically, this strategic planning job is to support their clients and the account and creative departments (and the Agency at large) in understanding how they connect their clients’ brands with real people - whether it be housewives buying butter, families booking a holiday, or football communities wanting to engage with the things about which they’re passionate.
You’ll need to challenge and inspire the creative teams across every discipline and channel day in, day out, and encourage them to think differently about how they can develop creative communications ideas. And you’ll need to challenge and inspire their clients to think differently about how to find the most effective solutions to their brand and business problems.

You’ll be fascinated by consumer behaviour, and look to understand and identify behavioural solutions to clients’ problems.
You’ll be channel agnostic and media literate, helping them to develop ideas that stretch across disciplines, silos and channels. You’ll be solution-focused, and obsessed with effectiveness and demonstrating impact.

• Strategic excellence.
• Creatively inspiring and a passionate influencer and advisor
• Knowledge of technology.
• Determination to achieve deadlines.
• An analytical mind and the ability to distil in a digestible way.
• Strong relationship skills and a consultative approach.
• Demonstrates natural enthusiasm and energy.
• Ability to swiftly gain overview of situations and prioritise activities.
• Demonstrate dual ability to work autonomously and as part of a team.

We are currently shortlisting for this position – if you’d like to be part of the process please send across a brief note with your latest CV.
