Stellar Event Coordinator

Event Planners! We are looking for you to join our client, one of the world's leading investment management organizations, and become apart of their events team, helping to develop and execute a competitor analysis for the events industry and support adhoc requests as needed. The ideal new team member will have working knowledge of the investment management industry and be a team player!

The project is currently slated for 8 weeks onsite in their NYC office and this role would support and manage the following initiatives:

 Project based research assignment to assess competitor activity at conferences to understand gaps / opportunities for events strategy and use analysis as input for 2016 plan.

 Proactively call an identified list of industry sponsorships for information gathering for 2015/2016 years (preset list of items provided).

 Online research and profile for the events.

 Collect conference data through interviews with employees.

 Compile sponsorship & exhibitor information into events database for events tracked.

 Translate work produced into a PowerPoint presentation.

 Develop a go forward strategy.

 Help with ad hoc assignments or process improvements as needed.



Understanding of the events planning process:

 Logistics: Responsible for venue search (create and manage RFPs), budget management, site selection, transportation, accommodation, entertainment, audio visual; building registration websites through Cvent and source and contract necessary vendors.

 Content: Oversee and contribute to the development of speaker selection, printed materials, and content supervision.

 Communication: detailed planning/ scoping of event and manage pre-event communications and reporting, create project plans, liaise with event host, clients and speakers; source and contract necessary vendors.



Skills & Experience:



 The ideal candidate will have:

– Strong research skills.



 Microsoft Word, Excel, Powerpoint (need to put together presentations)



 Knowledge of event registration software (Cvent)



 Knowledgeable on event industry trends and best practice



 Creative, natural leader with strong judgment skills and business sense



 Leadership/influencing/negotiation and decision making skills



Qualifications:



 B.A. / B.S. degree required.



 5+ Years’ experience in Event Planning



 5+ Years’ experience in project management
