Vitamin T is in need for a talented Sr. Web Developer for a Lansing, MI client. Duties & Responsibilities

Other Duties • Provides scheduled on-call 24x7 system support on a rotational basis. Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities

JavaScript, and other front end technologies, as well as support these applications. Collaborates with other IT departments, as well as

analyze business requirements and recommend solutions that meet company goals. In addition to mentoring and supporting team

members, the Sr. Web Developer provides thought leadership on front end design and development best practices.

• Creates standards-based, semantic, valid markup that provides a positive user experience.

• Interprets and helps to clarify customer and/or business requirements, and ensures those needs are met through technical

implementation.

• Evaluates and/or provides high level estimates, and works with stakeholders and Corporate IT to communicate changes as

project requirements evolve.

• Consults with management and development teams to prioritize needs and resolve conflicts.

• Provides deliverables and implements solutions in a timely manner.

• Maintains, integrates, implements impactful, complex applications, as well as providing post implementation support.

• Works with version control software and deploys jobs to environments as per development workflow.

• Works with Quality Assurance to clarify requirements, validate test plans, and resolve issues.

• Applies the standard development methodology process to all projects.

• Researches and establishes standards-based approaches to usability and development.

• Researches and establishes infrastructure and site modifications to improve performance, and/or the user experience.

• Promotes quality by performing code reviews, mentoring Web Developers, and enforcing coding standards.

• Maintains knowledge, researches and advises of new technologies as they relate to improving service levels, business

processes, and/or the value of the unit.

• Drives continuous improvements in performance, extensibility, reliability, and usability.

• Performs other special projects or duties as assigned.

• Expert knowledge of HTML and CSS technologies.

• Strong knowledge of HTML5, CSS3, and Responsive Design.

• Excellent knowledge of JavaScript and libraries, such as jQuery and YUI.

• Excellent understanding and knowledge of when to use advanced coding techniques such as:

o Dynamic data (via JSON, XML, or Web Services)

o Custom code vs. third-party solutions

o Server-side logic

o User-specific data delivery, based on user types, and/or group permissions

Education & Experience

• Excellent conceptual understanding of server-side languages, such as Java Server Page (JSP) and/or Java Server Faces

(JSF) technologies, and the ability to make changes to the front end logic without impacting the server-side logic

• Excellent knowledge of version control systems.

• Excellent knowledge of usability principles.

• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

• Excellent analytical ability.

• Strong orientation toward customer service.

• Ability to hand-code applications from mockups and wireframes, while strictly adhering to current W3C

specifications/recommendations. No generation of code.

• Ability to work with Microsoft Office and Adobe Creative Suite (Dreamweaver, Photoshop, Fireworks, and Illustrator).

• Ability to collaborate effectively in a team environment to achieve desired results.

• Ability to work extended hours as needed.

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience and/or education.

• 5-8 years of experience with HTML, JavaScript, and CSS and other front end technologies.

• 5-8 years working with dynamic web technologies, such as JSP, JSF, PHP, JSON, and XML.
