Sr. Web Designer: Contract/Contract To Hire

Work closely with the Associate Creative Director through development, refinement, & final execution
to ensure delivery of final art files executed per brand guidelines. Responsible for the conceptual and visual development of web designs.


• Concept, design, and execute a variety of designs including, but not limited to, websites, landing pages,
e-mail campaigns, site navigation, icons, social media assets, promotional banners and advertisement campaigns, with the assistance of Associate Creative Director.
• Direct, review, and guide refinement of artwork created by Web Designers and Junior Web Designers.
• Mentor and provide guidance to Web Designers and Junior Web Designers as necessary.
• Using international brand guidelines, create web designs while maintaining consistency of brand communication.
• Work with performance marketing analysts to make design changes based on user metrics.
• Direct retouching, color calibration, and digital optimization of images for presentation on the web.
• Ensure designs maintain a consistent look with different browsers and e-mail clients through the use of style sheets, established industry standards, and best practices.
• Perform maintenance and updates to existing web sites, including content updates and error correction.
• Adheres to department workflow policy to ensure deadlines are met.
• Present and review artwork throughout the production process and provide quality assurance of all deliverables.
• Maintain organized file management system as outlined by department processes.


MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
• Bachelor’s degree in Web Design, Graphic Design, or equivalent combination of related education and experience.
• 5-7 years of professional web design experience within an agency or in-house design department.
• Expert proficiency in the latest versions of Adobe Photoshop, Illustrator, Fireworks, Acrobat, and Mac OS.
• Strong knowledge of HTML, CSS, and understanding of cross-browser design issues and clean
work-arounds. Flash, basic JavaScript, and print experience a plus.
• Skilled in Microsoft Excel, Word and PowerPoint.
• Experience in the wholesale/retail fashion industry a plus.
• Well-developed communication skills including the ability to articulate creative concepts and rationale with every level of the organization.
• Experience supervising and developing new and existing design talent within a creative team preferred.
• Ability to work well collaboratively in a team environment that includes developers, editors, sales and business staff, management, and corporate IT staff
• Must work well under tight time constraints, adapting priorities, and challenges to assure timely delivery of projects.
• Self-motivated, organized, accountable, careful attention to detail.
• Demonstrates resolving missing/incomplete information or inconsistencies in project requests.
• Commitment to continuing education and keeping up to date with industry trends and technology.
• Able to identify and recommend best practices in areas of web design, user experience, and user interface. Continual evaluation of design and experience developments on competitor sites.

This individual must be a passionate design professional who stays current on emerging technologies, demonstrates excellent concept development skills, and thrives in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment. Ability to work extended hours when required.
