Sr. Web Designer

Our client, one of Austin's "Best Places to Work" is seeking a Senior-Level Interactive/Web Designer to help develop brand new, world-class e-commerce identities and websites.

The ideal candidate will have extensive knowledge of useability maps and functionality wireframing with an eye towards business requirements. If you are the right person, you idolize Edward Tuft and Krome Barratt. UX/UI experience or focus is a huge plus.

This role involves some associate art direction and strong problem solving skills. The correct candidate is comfortable both interpreting and communicating business needs with marketing stakeholders and translating those ideas into design thinking.

There is no coding necessary for this position, but knowledge of best practices in the areas of image compression, CSS, file management, and organization are essential.

Job Requirements
3-5 years in-house design experience (agency experience appreciated)
Experience in the ecommerce, print or signage industries is a big PLUS and strongly preferred
Online portfolio of excellent web & ecommerce and print design work
Min 2-year assoc. degree (4-year undergraduate degree preferred) in graphic design or related field
Expert user of Adobe CS suite (especially Photoshop, Illustrator, and Fireworks)
Understanding of HTML & CSS and how to design for efficient front end code
Experienced user of MS Office- Word, Excel & Power Point
A deep passion for aesthetics, design, marketing, and user experience
Self-starting, solution-oriented thinking
Knowledge of when to ask questions and seek clarification for assignments
Ability to produce flawless work in a fast-paced environment
Ability to work independently or in a group
Ability to stay focused on and achieve business goals for projects
Current knowledge of technologies, trends, and items of benefit in the design industry
Thought Leadership and ability to put the creative spark in a project meeting or brainstorm
FLEXIBILITY, adaptability, and patience in a constantly evolving job environment- “can-do” attitude is a MUST
A comfort level with some level of ambiguity in assignments and ability to ask questions to fill in the information gaps you need
Core Job Responsibilities
Working closely with our Senior Web Designer, UX Designer, Product Development team, SEM/SEO team, development team, and executive management
Preparing graphic elements for UX Designer - generally icons, buttons and product images
Creating artwork, wireframes, and mockups/comps for our primary online ecommerce presence in addition to several microsites, as well as printed materials such as flyers, mailers, job postings, information one-sheets, business cards, etc., and other areas as needed.
Content management- preparing templates (and some clipart) for our main website and microsites including file tagging for search and cross sell functionality
Photographing (with company camera) and prepping product and material images for the website
Developing and adhering to overall visual and thematic style guidelines to ensure consistency at every opportunity, but know where (and how) to color outside the lines.
