Sr. Visual/UI Designer

Looking for an Sr. Visual/UI Designer (AKA Experience Designer as they call it) to join their Experience Design team. To design innovative experiences, they build small, cross-functional teams that work in measurable steps, prototyping lightweight and fast actions, and assessing performance based on outcomes and usability at each phase of the process. This is not a typical visual design position. A Designer on the Experience Design team means knowing how to conceive future interface and interaction solutions, partner with technologists, and bring the ideas to life.

This will be a contract to hire role, in SF, 40 hours a week.

Responsibilities of the successful candidate include:
- Passion and expertise in interaction, UI, and visual design.
- Highly polished aesthetic sense, with an uncanny ability to be on the cutting edge of experience design and trends.
- Rich understanding of UI design principles across multiple domains, including mobile applications, eCommerce, and desktop platforms.
- Possess the humility to take direction, courage to offer critical feedback, and personality to enhance team collaboration.
- Strong ability to be a conceptual thinker, with a comfort level for being able to future-scape ideas and work towards producing tangible solutions.
- Exhibit high level of professionalism, with the ability to consistently and effectively communicate with project team throughout all stages of design.
- Ability to collaborate with account managers, leads and directors to refine scope, brief, and approach to the project on larger client relationships.
- Desire to take action, make things, and self-develop skills and tools to help the team stay at the forefront of our field.
- Capacity to translate our founder’s insights and art direction into all aspects of visual and interaction design.

Required skills/Experience:
- Minimum 3+ years of relevant experience in experiential product design (apps, web, digital ecosystems)
- Strong portfolio of cutting edge visual design that proves solid design skills and forward thinking
- Superior verbal, oral and written communication and presentation skills
- Ability to articulate the qualities and benefits of a design approach
- Strong knowledge of visual design as it relates to digital experiences.
- Future forward and concept driven thinking with a hint of visionary thrown in for good measure
- Deep knowledge of technical innovations and constraints as they pertain to a variety of platforms and devices in the digital space
- Willingness to take direction and learn from others
- Passionate thinker about consumer behavior
- Multilingual skills are welcome
- Sensitivity to international consumers and markets
- Requires a BA/BS or BFA in Interaction/Graphic Design or a related degree from an accredited college or university or equivalent experience
- Strong knowledge of the full Adobe suite of products and Keynote
- Motion design and video experience a HUGE BONUS
- Lives, breaths, and loves design
