Disney Movies Anywhere is looking for a passionate and accomplished Senior Visual Designer. You’re ahead of the curve: you aren’t obsessed with flat design or thinking about other contemporary trends, you’re thinking about what’s next – future trends and solutions. You will be an integral part of our visionary team, working hand-in-hand with UX, Product and Development. You must be a big thinker, technically skillful, and willing to roll up your sleeves when the small things need to get done. You must advocate articulately for great design, but are willing to take feedback and constructive criticism. Collaboration and communication is key. No prima donnas.


Key Responsibilities

On a diverse team of professionals, work with UX to translate experience into multi-channel, interactive, intuitive designs. Deep mobile and responsive web experience is an absolute must. Resumes/portfolios without examples that *you* created will not be considered.
Lead ideation sessions and brainstorming workshops with Creative, Marketing, Product, UX and business stakeholders to create design concepts
Translating conceptual ideas into finalized visual designs.
Leverage expert attention to detail for selection and execution of superior typography, layout and color theory.
Develop a point of view on the visual design of DMA and diplomatically defend design decisions.
Work with UX designers to achieve strong visual and technological solutions without sacrificing usability.
Work with Copy, Production, Marketing, Product and Development
Must be able to collaborate closely, articulate POV, and lead independently.
Must be able to work on-site in Glendale, CA, 35-40 hours/week.



Knowledge, Skills & Abilities

Demonstrated excellence in designing complex user interfaces and interactions for web, mobile, TV and cross channel experiences.
Mastery of visual design tools.
Solid understanding of interaction design principles and best practices.
Ability to rapidly iterate on ideas from concept through production-ready comps on tight timelines.
Ability to provide actionable, constructive feedback on wireframes and flows.
Must have working knowledge of modern development practices and be able to speak to functionality and visual design elements.
Comfortable communicating a point of view and collaborating within a team of diverse work partners.
Ability to evaluate & clearly communicate pros/cons/fit behind design decisions utilizing various data points.
Proven success designing cross-platform experiences on both native app and responsive design.
Background developing and applying UI design patterns, standards and guidelines
Knowledge of GUI accessibility standards
Must work collaboratively in a team environment


Experience

Minimum of 7 years of related experience that includes visual design for mobile and web.
Expert with Adobe Creative Suite. Working familiarity with Axure, Omnigraffle and/or other wireframing tools.
Familiarity with entertainment-on-demand products and consumer landscape.
Past experience working on interactive solutions for kids and parents a plus.
