Sr. Visual Experience Designer

A product group with our client is driving to build awareness and improve the overall customer experience. As part of this initiative, they are investing in web development efforts focused on making it easier for their customers to get help, support, and to learn how to use their software.

Our client is looking for a visual designer to define the overall design across a family of web-based products, services, that include in-product, mobile, and desktop touch points. Successful candidate will be experienced in end-to-end user experience design, illustrate an ability to apply strategic thinking and business goals to all design work, and possess a keen understanding of interaction design patterns and trends.

Responsibilities – Visual Design:

-Provide Visual Design support for in-product, mobile, and desktop web services
-Research and brainstorm with team members to create and innovate visual design solutions
-Develop and define visual design systems within an overall company brand
-Collaborate with design and engineering team to determine how best to translate and integrate visual design elements into a digital interface
-Deliver visual design documentation and assets
-Able to communicate a creative vision
-Conduct research that gives clients insight into their brand. Understand branding as it relates to user experience.
-Create a visual language strategy that achieves brand and user goals.
-Iteratively refine a visual system that supports the interaction that makes people want to spend time with the product, and that engineers can build.
-Understand interface and interaction design principles as they relate to web sites, desktop applications, handheld devices, and environments.
-Communicate clearly about design, from delivering persuasive presentations to writing detailed style guides.
-Consistently deliver brilliant design on a deadline
-Deliver visual specifications documents for front-end developers that includes CSS

Experience and Qualifications:

-A portfolio demonstrating superior design skills and deliverables
-Bachelor’s degree in a design discipline, HCI, Human Factors, post-secondary education in related field, or equivalent work experience
-3-5 years' experience in user interface / user interaction design
-Have superb information and graphic design skills.
-Previous experience designing service-based software delivered across web and mobile interfaces
-Experience with a range of graphic design tools (Illustrator, Photoshop, etc.)
-Ability to interact with and influence others effectively via teamwork and diplomacy
-Demonstrates interest in the details and the results of the design process, not just the initial high concept
-Demonstrates ability to develop and communicate compelling stories and presentations
-Possess a positive can-do attitude and proven track record driving to results
-Excellent interpersonal skills, strong visual communication skills, strong presentation skills.
-A passion for great UX design and how it impacts user experience, loyalty, and delight
-Technical background and/or a demonstrable understanding of the capabilities and limitations of front-end web technologies (HTML, CSS, JS, jQuery) as they relate to design
