Vitamin T is in need for a Sr. User Experience Designer for a Lansing, Mi client. The selected person conceptualizes and designs solutions that are flexible enough to display properly across multiple browsers, platforms, and devices.

Works collaboratively with a team of business clients and Corporate IT, the Sr. User Experience Designer can understand and relate

business concepts into engaging and intuitive visual solutions, such as sketches, user flows, wireframes, mockups and/or prototypes.

Also conducts UX research and applies usability methodologies when necessary, in addition to mentoring and supporting other team

members. Ensures a shared UX vision across organizational teams, including various business units and Corporate IT.

• Designs professional, engaging, and aesthetically appealing solutions for impactful, complex applications, and iterates

based on user feedback research.

• Interprets and understands customer and/or business requirements, and ensures those needs are met through effective

and engaging designs.

• Collects data through user research, user feedback, field studies, and usability studies.

• Establishes and maintains an information architecture that is well organized, user friendly, and presents a consistent

corporate look and feel.

• Creates and maintains graphical designs and style guides (e.g. color palette, typography, imagery, layouts, and mockups)

to support the corporate identity and brands.

• Analyzes the use of content and design; takes steps as necessary and affordable to improve information content

architecture and design.

• Reviews all elements of design from a human-computer interaction perspective and provides rationale for solutions that

ensure maximum usability.

• Evaluates and/or provides high level estimates, and works with stakeholders, project management, and development teams

to communicate changes as project requirements evolve.

• Consults with management and development teams to prioritize needs and resolve conflicts.

• Provides deliverables and implements solutions in a timely manner.

• Researches and establishes UX/UI standards, techniques and methods.

• Promotes quality through design reviews, mentoring User Experience Designers, and enforcing design standards.

• Drives continuous improvements in user experience, usability, and UI design.

• Assists in additional projects as directed.

• Excellent attention to detail, and ability to create wireframes, user flows, mockups, interactive design and prototypes.

• Excellent understanding of information architecture.

• Excellent knowledge of executing usability methodologies such as card sorting, heuristic evaluations, personas, and

ethnographic interviewing.

• Excellent understanding of responsive design.

• Excellent aesthetic sense and ability to think creatively.

• Excellent knowledge of HTML and CSS.

• Excellent conceptual understanding JavaScript.

• Excellent conceptual understanding of dynamic data structures such as JSON, XML, and Web Services.

• Excellent conceptual understanding of server-side languages, such as Java Server Page (JSP) and/or Java Server Faces

(JSF) technologies, and the ability to make changes to the front end logic without impacting the server-side logic.

• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

• Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills.

• Excellent orientation toward customer service.

• Expert understanding of the Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, Fireworks, Illustrator, and InDesign), and related UI

development software (Balsamic, Axure, Gliffy, Visio, etc.)

• Ability to work with Microsoft Office.

• Ability to research and communicate new UX/UI design trends and methodologies.

• Ability to collaborate effectively in a team environment to achieve desired results.

• Ability to work extended hours as needed.

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience and/or education.

• 5-8 years of relevant experience required.

• HCI Experience preferred.
