General Responsibilities: Work with a cross-functional team of product managers, business analysts, visual designers, design technologists, and developers to produce compelling and fun experiences for customers. Improve and document current working practices, products, and technologies. Define, categorize, and organize content. Create multiple solutions to a single design problem and iterate to a single (or so) final design. Create specification, as needed, including site maps, flow diagrams, state transition diagrams, wireframes, and interactive prototypes. Provide recommendations on ongoing product strategy based on qualitative and quantitative data. Coordinate or execute user research efforts, e.g., interviews, usability testing, and surveys, as needed. Work collaboratively with design, content, technology, business owners, and other teams to identify opportunities for innovation, growth, and efficiency. Ensure that all deliverables meet the requirements of the business. Prepare and share project and/or design presentations to the extended EI organization. Rationalize design decisions to stakeholders and peers. Support the execution of the Product Development roadmap and other initiatives. Provide insights on where user needs are not being met at the feature level. Oversee and direct the work of a small team of designers to develop a best-in-class visual design experience for a global Brand. Ensures the ongoing training and development of direct reports. Keep the team informed of industry trends, best practices, comparative and competitive reviews, and evolving technologies.

Lodging Technology: Come make an impact to the world of travel! OUr client is looking for a talented user experience designer with a passion and insight for creating innovative, yet highly effective products to help transform our core experiences for our Hotel Partners. You will be partnering with business owners, product managers and engineers on developing a robust self-service platform for our Hotel Partners. The position requires both a creative visual thinker as well as an inherently analytical and detail-oriented mind. You will be responsible for helping define and realize product features in aggressive timelines and collaborating with other members of the UX team to create compelling world-class customer experiences that take Expedia's Global Supplier marketplace to the next level.

Expectations and Responsibilities:
•Create the UI and interaction design specs for a robust self-service product through the creation of user experience briefs, conceptual IA documentation, site maps, concept diagrams, user scenarios, user-flows, wireframes, visual comps, and both rapid lo-fi and detailed high-fidelity interactive prototypes
•Create multiple solutions to a single design problem and iterate to a final design
•Drive optimal experiences, measured in terms of usability, intuitiveness, consistency, time to market, and ultimately, business success metrics
•Develop and maintain detailed visual and user-interface specifications and design patterns
•Analyze customer-related research to better inform user stories, priorities and solutions
•Advocate industry standards and user-centric design principals and champion innovative techniques and solutions •Ability to present and pitch design solutions to UX leadership team, business stakeholders, partner stakeholders, and executives for review and feedback
•Ensure that the product is delivered on time and with a consistent, user-driven design Qualifications:
•5+ years’ experience as a user experience, interaction or visual designer in the interactive web space, with emphasis on mobile
•An online portfolio or sample of work demonstrating experience creating user-centered design solutions with effective and beautiful visual designs (excellent grasp of typography, color, rhythm, alignment, balance, texture, and layout) is a requirement.
•Advanced understanding of information design, web accessibility, UI, interaction and visual design best practices, limitations and constraints of front-end presentation principals and browser limitations, responsive design and mobile.
•Advanced skills with a variety of design and prototyping tools such as Photoshop, Illustrator, Fireworks, Dreamweaver, Visio, Axure, Omnigraffle, etc.
•Ability to prototype in HTML and CSS is required
•Experience working in a collaborative team environment and working directly with developers, program managers, product managers and business owners for implementation of designs
•Excellent communication, presentation, interpersonal and analytical skills including the ability to communicate complex, interactive design concepts clearly and persuasively across different audiences and varying levels of the organization.
•Familiarity with agile software development processes is a plus
Passionate self-starter who can be visionary, detailed-oriented and an enthusiastic team player.
•Knowledge of the travel industry is a plus
