Sr. User Experience Designer

As a Sr. User Experience Designer you will be the ultimate user advocate throughout the project lifecycle, owning the UX portion of the client engagement from discovery through testing/iteration. Working closely with clients and strategist, you will understand the business objectives that underpin the project and define the KPIs and metrics. Conducting heuristic analysis and user research, you will define the target audience, identify best practices, and document your findings. Collaborating with strategist, designers, and developers, you will bring the user-centered design process to life; creating simple and elegant user experiences that support business objectives while delighting users. Testing and measuring the KPIs will inform your future iterations and complete the cycle.

This particular opportunity is centered on designing SaaS interfaces for enterprise infrastructure/networking applications.

This is a two month contract which may go longer. Candidates must be able to be on-site for the duration of the assignment.

REQUIREMENTS
• At least 6 years of experience designing site architectures, highly–detailed annotated wireframes, user flows, process diagrams, and building rapid prototypes for sites and applications for both B2B and B2C audiences
• Polished client communication/presentation skills, including the ability to sell ideas to varying audiences
• In-depth experience designing software interfaces and documenting interaction standards for desktop and mobile platforms
• Portfolio should include experience designing solutions for networking, cloud, and virtual infrastructures, as well as responsive and adaptive interfaces
• See both the macro and micro views of a challenge and change lenses seamlessly
• Ability to thrive within an Agile development environment
• Working understanding of front-end (HTML 5.0, CSS 4, JavaScript, Flash, etc.) and back-end technologies (databases, CMS, etc.) and their limitations/impact to user experience
• Deftly skilled in the tools of the trade: Adobe InDesign and Photoshop, Omnigraffle, Visio, Axure, Keynote, MS Office
• Ability to seamlessly switch between rapid lo-fi sketches of the “big-picture” and thoroughly annotated hi-fi wireframes
• Strong written and verbal communication skills; especially story-telling
• Effectively work within a team of designers, strategists, and developers
• Strong time management skills and the ability to be self–directed when needed
• Exceptional attention to detail
• Superior portfolio

PREFERRED SKILLS
• Experience planning and facilitating user research (both ethnographic and design focused) and usability tests including familiarity with tools such as Tobii, Silverback and Morae
• Ability to analyze metrics from Google Analytics, WebTrends, and Omniture as well as CSVs filled with survey or other quantitative research data.
• Love for crafting research based personas that are both memorable and accurate
• Expertise in localizing user experiences
• Agency experience (preferred but not required)
