Sr. UX Researcher/Strategist (full time)

We’re hiring a Senior UX Strategist and researcher for a large, well known $1B global ecommerce organization. We’re looking for someone to join this collaborative team where we have a deep understanding of our customers’ needs and behaviors and embedding that knowledge in all that we do. We are seeking a Senior UX Strategist/Researcher with proven strategy expertise and tactical UX research experience to work in partnership with teams across the organization to impact the design of a large complex ecommerce website. This is an opportunity for an experienced UX strategist to lead a variety of research activities and play a lead role in developing and executing a UX strategy that ultimately fuels business growth.
 
What you will do:
 
In this role you will be charged with leading user research activities to identify key customer insights and synthesizing your findings into recommendations and strategies that fuel ideation, guide UX design, and inform strategic business decisions.
In a brand new, state-of-the art lab, you will plan, implement and conduct a variety of user research including 1:1 customer interviews, usability testing, focus groups, remote testing, card sorting, longitudinal journal studies and similar activities. You will add value by providing feedback to rapidly iterating agile teams, as well as lead larger lab studies for deeper insights. You will mentor and guide UX researchers and be a valued subject matter expert, tapped to think strategically about best practices, methodologies and research innovation.
 
Primary responsibilities include:
• Collaborate with business stakeholders to define research goals, objectives and success criteria that align with business goals and support company priorities.
• Lead UX research: conduct interviews, develop surveys, and complete other usability assessments including phone surveys and heuristic evaluations.
• Translate research findings into actionable recommendations and strategies using creative storytelling and compelling presentations.
• Contribute to high-level strategic decisions relating to the overall development and design of the company’s website in collaboration with product, technology and executive teams.
Qualifications:
• Degree in psychology, UX, usability, or human factors, or related experience
• experience leading UX research and usability testing from start to finish
• Thorough grounding in online interaction design
• Understanding of ecommerce usability testing practices and theory
• A curious mind and an ability to ask insightful questions
• Ability to clearly articulate your ideas with excellent written, verbal, and graphic style
• Must be a strong presenter and communicator with solid interpersonal skills
• Familiarity with Agile processes, information architecture & interaction design in a corporate or consulting environment
• Experience with remote testing methods such as Optimal Workshop, UserTesting.com, WebEx. We’re open to using other types of methods as well!
• Familiarity with and willingness to learn UX survey tools such as Survey Monkey, Mechanical Turk, etc.
• Bonus points for HTML skills!

This is a full time, temp to perm role with a 2-3 month trial period before converting to permanent. We're looking for someone to join our team and become an integral part of the group.
