Job description



We know that in order to deliver compelling, meaningful experiences we must first begin with a deep, empathic understanding of our customers’ latent needs and behaviors. As a HCI researcher, you will help us uncover customer insights including both how they engage with our products and brand today as well as how they may engage with us in the future.
As a senior individual contributor, you will be part of a team responsible for defining, designing and executing the vision of the next generation digital offerings, from both a conceptual and practical perspective. As a researcher in the Digital Products group, you will play an integral role in the design and engineering process; partnering closely with designers, developers, and program managers.
In this role, it will be your responsibility to lead research efforts, including planning, execution, analysis and dissemination. The ideal candidate will be able to easily flow between generative and evaluative research, providing well-rounded insights and actionable recommendations. The candidate will have a mature toolkit of both qualitative and quantitative methodologies, including, but not limited to:

- Field research

- Contextual interviews

- Usability testing

- Surveys

- Task analysis

- Heuristic evaluation

- A/B testing

- Personas

- Card sorting

- Data analysis

- Benchmark testing

- Remote testing



As a lead research contributor, we are looking for someone who can develop research methods and best practices for the group that will better prepare us to evolve our digital experiences.



Qualifications

- 4+ years experience of industry experience in user research

- A master’s degree in HCI, human factors, cognitive psychology, behavioral science or
closely related field

- A strong portfolio demonstrating sound UX principles and research processes including

research objectives, study plans, reports, and derived outcomes

- Expertise in major research tools such as Tobii, OVO studio, Morae, Camtasia Studio,
video editing software and remote usability software

- Expertise in statistical analysis, including knowledge with data analysis tools such as R,
SAS, SPSS, and Statistica

- Experience planning and managing research projects with both internal and vendor
resources

- A strong understanding of touch, NUI and GUI interaction trends and industry standards, including emerging and speculative technologies
