Sr. UX Product Researcher

One of our Fortune 500 clients and also Big 4 consulting firms is looking for a ROCK-STAR Product Researcher. You should be able to be hands on and in the weeds with details of design and implementation. Position Description

As a Product Researcher, you will leverage an iterative, user-centered approach and solid research & synthesis skills to deliver valuable new experiences for their clients and colleagues across mobile and web platforms. They are looking for experienced professionals who possess a blend of user-centered research practices, creative innovation, and the drive to work on some of the most exciting digital initiatives within our organization.

You will contribute to all aspects of designing and delivering great user experiences with a focus on designing experiments, leading discovery and usability testing, and uncovering useful insights. You will pair up with fellow researchers, designers, product managers, developers, architects and internal clients to identify problems and opportunities, develop and test hypotheses through qualitative and quantitative methods, and to help clarify and measure what will be most critical to the success of a product.

Responsibilities:
• Collaborate with multi-disciplinary product teams to define problems and opportunities
• Work closely with product managers to lead discovery work that helps teams establish their products’ value propositions, including user interviews, vision workshops, ideation and co-design workshops, concept tests, and more
• Plan, coordinate, and conduct comprehensive user research at all stages of the product life cycle to test hypotheses and uncover useful, actionable insights
• Advise the team on what kinds of experiments will best inform the kinds of insights upon which they can build a highly engaging and intuitive user experience
• Work with designers to turn observational insights and other data into creative solutions
• Translate user research findings into clear, actionable insights articulated through artifacts such as personas, customer journey maps, and service blueprints
• Collaborate with designers, developers and architects to review, iterate and refine product design during development cycles
• Work with fellow researchers to instill best practices for user research across the organization’s product development lifecycle

Qualifications:
• BA or MA in Interaction Design, Communication Design, Product Design, HCI, or equivalent practical experience
• 3-5 years of professional experience in user research or user experience design
• A work history demonstrating strong qualitative and quantitative research skills, the ability to generate compelling insights, and a thorough understanding of the research and design processes
• Experience moderating usability tests, user interviews, and design workshops
• Experience in both qualitative and quantitative analysis
• Strong communication skills with ability to articulate insights that illuminate
• Strong collaboration – you partner well with others to solve problems and actively incorporate input from various sources; experience working with others on a global basis
• A sense of humor and positive attitude
• Ability to thrive in a fluid and entrepreneurial environment and embark on regional and global travel as needed


Logistics
This position reports to the UX Manager, Digital Innovation.
The Product Researcher will ideally be located in New York, but we are willing to consider highly qualified candidates in other locations.
