Vitamin T is currently in search of a Sr. UX Designer for our client in Southfield, MI. This full-time on-site role with our client has a terrific work/life balance, as well as the opportunity of converting to permanent with our client!

Nature / Scope:

The UX Designer will partner with a collaborative, cross-functional team to design portals, applications and web properties. The Designer will contribute to the concept, strategy, and cross-platform integration while following a user-centered design process.

Duties / Responsibilities:

- Conduct primary research via user interviews, focus groups, and contextual analysis to generate actionable insights for UX designs
- Design new user experiences that drive the next generation of Web, Mobile, and applications
- Create wireframes, site maps, feature lists, specifications and other artifacts to describe the intended user experience
- Design usability tests, draft test scripts, and perform test moderation
- Support continuous improvement of user experience strategies, tools, documentation, and processes
- Excellent presentation skills to effectively communicate research findings to design teams and stakeholders
- Effectively represent the voice of user to influence and improve design decisions
- Develop interactive design simulations using Axure or similar design tools
- Consult with the team throughout development and rollout to ensure designs are understood, implemented and communicated appropriately
- Ability to design enterprise level systems, anticipate users needs, and pivot based on findings is a must
- Understanding of design philosophies as they relate to responsive, adaptive, native, and mobile web apps

Background / Skillset:

- 4+ years experience designing user interfaces for web, tablet, and mobile, following user-centered design principles
- Degree in Human-Computer Interaction or related field preferred
- Strong portfolio of past UX/IA projects that demonstrate innovative solutions as well as samples including task flows, site maps, and wireframes is required
- Proficiency with design tools, such as Axure, Visio, Omnigraffle, iRise, Fireworks
- Knowledge of Adobe Creative Suite is a plus
- Experience using CSS, HTML, and Javascript preferred
- Experience designing for native Mobile and Responsive Web
- Experience of providing critical analysis of user experience designs based on heuristics and other accepted design principles
- Experience with group facilitation, user interviews, heuristic evaluations, task analysis, usability test design and moderation, and card sorting
- Experience working with Agile methodology preferred
- Knowledge and understanding of social media strategies and platforms
- Knowledge of video, motion graphics, Flash and photography a plus
- Ability to balance user-centered design skills, visual design sensibilities, and understanding of technical constraints in design thinking
- Agency experience is preferred
- Experience working on corporate branding and marketing campaigns is preferred
