Sr. UX Designer

Our client, a digital agency, is seeking a Sr. UX Designer.

Desired Skills and Experience

You're smart, articulate, and wildly creative. You know the world of interactive inside and out, front and back. You embrace the complexities of a constantly shifting landscape, and dream at night about responsive design solutions. You generate ideas — mountains of them—but more importantly, you know when to defend them, when to test them, and when to just let them go.

You conceptualize quickly, and can express your ideas equally effectively in words and sketches. You bask in front of whiteboards, and can command and lead a room of eager designers and clients at a moment's notice. You take an immense amount of pride in your work, but you enjoy the collaboration and energy that comes from working with other people. You are part visionary, part scientist, and all passion. You are as excited about the possibilities of interactive as we are, and simply will not accept mediocrity in anything you produce. You are comfortable in the vocabulary of both design and interactive and fluent enough in the technologies of the web to speak about them with clarity and intelligence.

This role is not just about passion and ideas. There is a tremendous amount of thinking and planning that goes into UX, and you embrace all aspects of it. You can roll with a content audit, bury yourself in analytics, and can help frame out business requirements with the best of them. You are a relentless advocate for the user—perhaps annoyingly so—and you can rationalize and defend the decisions you make. You are insanely detail oriented, and understand that how we express our ideas is as important as the ideas we generate. You can generate any type of design documentation required — sitemaps, useflows, wireframes and prototypes—but you are not a slave to a single metholodology or platform.

You are confident, but never arrogant. You've worked with creative people before, and you can gracefully handle the personalities and perspectives that other people bring. You can handle negative feedback, and find that the biggest critic of your work is usually yourself.
