Sr. UX Designer

Vitamin T has partnered with a reputable and established organization located in Ann Arbor, MI to find a Sr. User Experience Designer to join their growing global UX team. This is a full-time, contract-to-hire opportunity.

If you love understanding user needs, designing elegant web-application interfaces that make complex tasks easy, and working collaboratively in an agile development environment, this might be the opportunity for you. You'll partner with internal business leads to create and implement designs which accomplish product and business objectives. You'll work closely with subject matter experts and end users to understand their workflow and tasks and you'll collaborate with the software development staff to understand and work within technical constraints, and optimize the efficiency and effectiveness of design implementations.

What you need to be successful:
 Bachelor's Degree or higher in one of the following areas or a related field - Library Science, Human-Computer Interaction, Computer Science, Cognitive Psychology, Graphic Design, Visual Communications.
 Industry experience in interface design, web design, information architecture, usability design, or a closely related field.
 Proven experience making complex systems easy to use
 Proven experience producing appealing and effective web applications
 Passion for creating a good experience for our users
 Expert knowledge of user-centered design principles, web design best practices, visual trends and emerging web technologies.
 Expert knowledge of one or more wireframing tools such as Adobe Illustrator (preferred), Axure, Visio or OmniGraffle.
 Experience with usability analysis, design, and test methods.
 Familiar with HTML, CSS, JavaScript concepts and modern browser capabilities. (Ability to code is not necessary.)
 Demonstrated ability to work in an agile development team.
 Excellent organization, communication, interpersonal, and time management skills. Strong attention to detail.
 Adaptable/flexible to changing environment.
 Familiarity with library or publishing tools and services is a plus but not required.
