Our NY based company, is looking for a Senior UX Designer in Portland, OR!

As Senior UX Designer you will own the design vision for a product portfolio. Our clients portfolio structure empowers cross-functional Agile teams to tackle a broad range of related business problems,
so you will truly become the expert on your area of the product. You will discover, articulate, and prioritize users? needs and create innovative features that make it easy for them to accomplish complex tasks
like managing an ad campaign, retrieving and analyzing performance data, or dictating which ads are eligible to serve on a given website.

The UX team (comprised of UX Designers, UX Researchers and Visual Designers) collaborates closely with the Product Development, Engineering and Documentation teams to create solutions that satisfy company
initiatives while delighting our users.

Skills:
You have 3+ years of professional UX or IA experience.
You have taken on leadership roles in the past and you feel comfortable mentoring and providing direction to less experienced members of the team.
You are skilled at collaborating with other functions to identify the best possible UX solution given a set of engineering limitations, user needs, and business goals.
You are an old hand with bread-and-butter design tools like OmniGraffle or InDesign, and the capabilities and limitations of the newest HTML, CSS, and JavaScript technologies.

An interface design or enterprise software background is a big asset, though not required.

You believe that the users experience can always be improved and you constantly reexamine the status quo in search of things to fix or enhance.
When faced with a problem be it a tough design challenge, a last-minute tech requirement change, or a coworkers conflicting viewpoint you are committed to finding a solution that works for everyone
and you will not rest until all issues are satisfactorily resolved.
You are comfortable communicating complex ideas visually, whether at the whiteboard or on a napkin.
You are accustomed to working interactively, testing ideas, challenging assumptions, and abandoning the occasional dead end.

Key activities:

  • Design and maintain consistent, intuitive experiences across your product portfolio using tools and processes like site maps, user flows, wireframes, navigation design, competitive analysis,
    content inventories, and information organization models
  • Develop cutting-edge design solutions by conducting original research and validating hypotheses through iterative prototypes and usability testing
  • Deeply understand how users work, think, and feel so that you can speak confidently on behalf of the user?s needs and defend your ideas with user-centered arguments
  • Constantly look for potential problems and work to proactively solve them
  • Communicate design solutions to stakeholders for buy-in and implementation
  • Mentor less experienced members of the team
  • Connect the dots between business goals, user requirements, and engineering limitations
  • Use the latest tech and user interface practices to constantly evaluate and improve the product
  • Collaborate closely with engineers, product managers, technical writers, and the rest of the UX team to move projects from ideation to implementation
  • Evangelize user experience throughout the organization
