We are seeking an experienced designer with demonstrated ability to own the execution of end to end experiences for our next generation of field readiness. As a designer on our team, you will be responsible for contributing to design and innovation across one or more facets of the design process including rapid prototyping, storytelling, sketching, storyboarding, information architecture, interaction design, visual design, motion design, design research and usability. You must be a strong advocate for the user, know the user based on real customer interactions, and learn and champion industry-leading user-centered design practices. You are part technologist, part marketer and part artist.
You will be part of a team that is responsible for guiding and designing a vision for field readiness. This position requires excellent design, communication, and organization skills, and the ability to work across teams. The ideal candidate:
You are strong designer comfortable with both independent and collaborative interdependent work. You understand design is hard, hands on work and not just an intellectual exercise. You care deeply about the things you help bring into the world, and understand the product that is created is the real focus. You are able to deliver the highest quality concepts, design artifacts and presentation documents quickly under pressure, and can adapt quickly to shifting priorities. You are a strong team player, and are used to working very closely with engineering teams following Agile Development methodology. You love the challenge of solving problems in new ways, and have an innate ability to think logically but to apply that thinking creatively. You will be a stickler for detail, possess a desire to always deliver the best imaginable experience, and be an advocate of the principle that “good enough” isn’t good enough. You have designed for a variety of device types (pc, web, mobile, tablet), have knowledge of natural user interface (NUI) paradigms and have experience in designing experiences with multiple input modalities.

Primary responsibilities:
• Know our customer to the point of being able to anticipate their next move. Gain a working understanding of businesses in order to contribute to cohesive, end-to-end experiences for our users. Use the product/service regularly to understand it thoroughly and discover ways to improve it.
• Create wireframes, prototypes and other artifacts required to develop and evolve user experience designs for a variety of form factors - from desktop to mobile to apps; support team in communicating around experience architecture and interaction design direction.
• Have/apply deep understanding of fundamental visual design disciplines and principles including typography, iconography, composition, color, composition, layout, navigation model, commanding, Natural User Interface (NUI), and accessibility; extremely strong visual sensibilities, ability to use visual thinking, storyboards, sketching, and communication design to create breakthrough experiences
• Develop, manage, and refine UI pattern libraries and interaction guidelines
• Effectively communicate with developers through implementation phase to realize design vision; Drive Agile Design Concepts as a part of scrum engineering practices.
• Demonstrate ability to learn and adopt relevant new technologies, tools, methods and processes from Microsoft and industry.

Qualifications:
• Qualified candidates should have at least 7 years of experience including experience with interaction design, visual and motion design across multiple form-factors. Mobile responsive experiences a must.
• Expertise creating annotated wireframes, creative briefs, motion studies, and visual style guidelines
• Have command of the latest tools of your trade, including HTML/CSS/UHF. Experience with other tools that communicate your ideas well and fit into our technology environment is also a plus. We look to you to teach us a thing or two.
• Experience creating and managing UI pattern libraries and interaction guidelines
• Experience shipping innovative and complex mobile, web and app services within milestone deadlines
• Demonstrable ability to work confidently with program management, development, IT, product planning, brand, marketing and usability
• Portfolio review required!
• A minimum of a BA/BS degree in Graphic Design, Communication/Information Design, Interface Design, Interaction Design, HCI or equivalent experience is desired.
