Our client, a leading software provider of business and financial management solutions, is looking for an experienced UI Visual designer to work with a new product development team. This is initially a 1 month, part-time (10 - 20 hrs/wk), W-2 contract position. There is strong potential this position will continue to extend on a monthly basis depending on workload and performance.

You will be an integral member of a tight-knit team working with marketing, researchers, writers, and customer-facing teams to get a concept right early, and then iterate toward solutions that get measurable business results. In this role, you will be expected to contribute at the conceptual level - be a voice for the user interface as we think about defining products - as well as tactically and hands-on. Specifically, we will be looking for this person to generate wire frames, provide visual elements and detailed design guidance to the engineering team, and to contribute to the HTML and CSS coding. Position will be co-located with the engineering team in Mountain View.

The successful candidate will have superior design, communication, and interpersonal skills. You should possess a quick and keen understanding of business strategy, user research, consumer psychology, design patterns, and visual trends. Your ability to communicate and influence design solutions that best meet business objectives and then drive them to launch will be critical. You'll be counted on for high-level, out-of-the-box thinking, for your ability to clearly articulate the design decisions behind your executions, and for your ability to analyze the results of AB tests from a design perspective, and recommend winning design solutions.

Responsibilities:
• Voice of the User - Your recommendations are grounded in customer insights gleaned from past test results, design for delight concept exploration methods, follow-me-homes, agent ride-alongs/call-backs, usability sessions, etc.
• Leverage Best Practices - Weaving outside-in consumer psychology, context of use, design patterns, external best practices, and test results together, you create usable, effective, and winning online marketing.
• Storytelling - Approaching all projects with an end-to-end focus on optimal user flow and communication hierarchy, you solve for an overall engaging story that gets users to click!
• Execute End-to-End - Your role spans the entire project lifecycle; you'll quickly realize that your voice is key at every stage: ideation, planning, design, prototyping, specification, and implementation.
• Collaborate - Working closely with marketing managers, researchers, writers, and developers allows you to optimize for customer needs, business constraints, and technological realities.
• Be Prolific and Articulate - Generating multiple concepts that fulfill project requirements allows you to better articulate the relative merits of each. You make recommendations for which solution would best meet the project goals, or suggest ways to test your top contenders.
• Foster Team - You recognize that you're a better designer with support of others. Open solicitation of feedback and constructive contribution to review sessions make all work stronger.
• Big Picture + Details - With your pragmatic sights set on launch you continually strive for world-class design details.
• Testing Mindset - You love to win! And you love to learn from the data pulled from each test.
• Document - You're the linchpin for much of your project work, and you communicate up and downstream in a timely and effective way.

Qualifications:
• 3 - 5 years of interface design experience or related degree
• Well-rounded understanding of online marketing and web usability best practices
• Desire to continually improve the efficacy of design in driving business results (i.e. design marketing pages which drive consumer behavior toward conversion events)
• Creativity with an eye towards detail and perfection of user experience in mind
• Ability to switch easily between different projects, and flexibility to handle a rapidly changing environment while delivering high quality results
• Professional, team player with strong interpersonal skills
• Ability to solicit and incorporate diverse perspectives
• Ability to effectively engage and leverage peer members of the team to increase your overall contribution
• Expert level skills in Adobe Creative Suite

You MUST submit a portfolio that includes Visual Design and wireframe samples to be considered for this position.
